Facing the GPS system, remove the front cover with your nail or something sharp and under it you will find a reset button. If needed, refer to page 30 in this manual (different model but same principle, see website below) for pictures:

Why does my c340 keep losing satellite reception

Hello there:
please follow these instruction and this should help if not let me know and i willcontinue to get you more information for you
nstructions
  1. Step 1 Calibrate the screen of the Garmin StreetPilot C340. If the touch screen does not seem to respond when you hit it with your finger or a stylus, you may need to calibrate it. To do this, turn the unit off and then hold down the "Power" key for approximately one minute. You will see a calibration screen come up that will recalibrate the GPS2_bing.gif unit.
  2. Step 2 Reset the Garmin StreetPilot C340. If your GPS unit is not responding or is stuck on a particular screen, it may need to be reset in order to operate. To reset, remove the face plate of the unit by gently prying it off. Locate the "Reset" button under the face plate and press down in order to restart the device.
  3. Step 3 Change the fuse of the Garmin StreetPilot C340. If the fuse blows on the GPS, you will need to make a replacement using an ACG/3AG 2 amp fuse. Unscrew the adapter cord at the end and remove the fuse found there. Put in the new fuse to see if this returns function to the unit.
  4. Step 4 Update the software for your Garmin StreetPilot C340. If the GPS is not providing you with correct directional information, you may need to update the software or download new maps onto the device. Connect the Garmin StreetPilot C340 with the USB cord to your PC and log on the Garmin website for available updates.

As I was driving and using my garmin, changing from my route to "detour" and back the screen froze (80 minutes ago). Since I tried to turn off (using power switch) and I also unplugged. Garmin remains in...

Try resetting the unit. Remove the faceplate (there is an indentation at the top) and press the Reset button on the right side of the unit. If this does not help, there is a Master Reset, but it WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR FAVORITES. If you have to do this, press and hold the bottom right of the screen and press the power button until the unit resets.

My Garmin C340 froze up. can't shut off and touch screen does not

Have you tried a hard reset? Take off the silver trim ring around the screen by hooking a fingernail under it above the screen and lifting it off. There's a reset button at the side of the screen. Press that for a few seconds and it should re-boot the unit.

My Garmin StreetPilot c340 is frozen.

No.......the C340 STREET PILOT has a hidden reset button. Put your fingernail in the slot just under the GARMIN name on the front face plate. Gently pull the face plate outward. Don't take it all the way off. The reset button is on the right side of the front screen just under this plate. Use a pointed object and hold the button IN for 3 seconds and unit will turn off. When you power it back up it will REBOOT.

Street Pilot c340 froze up

I had the same problem, the face plates comes off by sticking your finger nail under the little notch under the garmin symbol and pich off the thin face plate, there is a reset button under the face plate in the middle of the right hand side of the edge of the face plate( visible when the face plate is dislodged. I held the button in for a second or two, you can feel the button recess as you push down on it) and the unit resets without disturbing the existing programed route

Display problem

Have you tried resetting the unit? It sounds like you may have a problem that Garmin needs to address. I would try to reset it first, then make sure you have the latest firmware loaded on the unit. If you still have the problem, it may have to be sent to Garmin for repair.
