I remember on the toshibas there is a way to enable and disable the mousepad. On your keyboard hold down the FN key and at the same time press the key that has the picture of a mouse. Its one of the f keys like f5, f6 etc. Try that and see if it enables the mouse.

Try pressing fn+f9 key, which is used to lock the touchpad and if this does not work, Try booting in safe mode using F8 key and try using touchpad there

Hope it will help.

fn key is a key on your laptop , in the bottom row on right near right alt key and f8 will take you to safe mode and check if you can move the touchpad in there or' not

The cursor will not move and I cannot use the laptop at all.

The cursur moves from the sensory pad, if the pad went out the cursur will not move.. I would start by installing an external wireless mouse or even a basic plug in mouse to the usb port and see if you can cntrol the cursor then. Cheap wireless mouses with a small included usb donggle can be used in place of the sensory pad cursor

I have a Toshiba LapTop Windows 7 My granddaughter pushed keys and now i can't get the cursor to move. I have tried shutting down and it is still frozen in the middle .

Are you using the trackpad to manipulate the cursor, or are you using an external mouse?

If you're using the trackpad, it may be as simple as using the Fn keys and the corresponding F keys at the top of the keyboard to enable the trackpad feature again. If that doesn't work, try plugging in an external mouse via USB port to see if that works.
If you're using an external mouse, then try to see if the cursor moves while using the trackpad.

Hopefully one of these options will give you control back over your cursor again.

I own a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop and the cursor is frozen, I cannot move it with neithe wireless mouse or touch pad. FN and F9 doesn't do anything either...

look into getting a bootable version of the utility pc-check it has a mouse utility to check as to whether or not the problem is software related.

To get enable or disable the Touch Pad you have to pulse the Fn + F9

You can also set this function as follow:

Start >> Control Panel >> Printers and other hardware

Click Mouse >> Touchpad (enable or disable)

    Touch pad possessed.

To turn off the touchpad when an external mouse or other pointing device is present, you can goto the Control Panel and double click the Mouse properties icon.

Click the Device Select tab and check "Disable Touch Pad when USB Pointing Device is present." The cursor will no longer move via the touchpad.

Alternatively, you can permanently disable the touchpad of your laptop by clicking the "Disable Device" in the Touch Pad setting. Advanced users can disable the touchpad from the BIOS setup [press F2 when the computer is booting to enter BIOS settings]

For extra USB ports, purchase a USB hub($15 -$20). That way you can add at least 4 USB ports to your laptop.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
    Thanks, Joe
