Question about Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer

1 Answer

Several times per week my mouse responds slowly. Many times if I install new batteries the problem is solved for a few weeks. However, just recently I installed new batteries and the problem persisted. I've not reinstalled the software because the CD isn't available to me at the present time. I've attempted to locate the software on the internet with no success.

Make sure the optical sensors on the bottom are not covered with lint or dirt and let us know if that helps.

I don't know if battery can slowing down a mouse action, but i guess you got virus in your computer. Check it as the first option

I would still try changing the battery. Even if the light in the mouse is still visible, the battery voltage may have dropped.

Not responding, batteries good per the tester, dongle plugged in to USB port, was working fine for weeks months

Try testing the mouse in another computer if available to make sure the problem is not the mouse. Also try removing the usb dongle, re-boot the computer, and then re-install the usb dongle in a different usb port then the one you removed it from. This might bring the computer back recognizing the usb mouse. You could also go into the control panel(if you are using windows) and then into the device manager. Then try removing the mouse in the device manager and then re-boot the computer and see if that works.

Mouse only works for a few seconds and then stops.

have you changed the batteries recently? Wireless mice seem to eat batteries faster. I have a Dell wireless mouse. It will work fine for months and then nothing. That's when I know to change out the batteries. If your batteries are fresh, make sure they are seated in their slots securely.

LX7 Mouse False Low Battery Reading

I have found that sometime these Rodents seem to have a "Taste" for a certain "Type" of AA or AAA cell, one needs to get the Highest Discharge rate one can get. Often the "Brand" of Batts supplied are the "Only" ones that seem to work 100% alla time? I have had similar problems with customers B4, and I find the Varta series of battery to be great. & remember just because you bought them "New" don't mean the Batts are always "Fresh", get batts from a place that has a high turnover.
