Question about Samsung Blackjack SGH-I607 Smartphone

1 Answer

Black jack 2

Blackjack 2 dropped into a puddle. Phone still works, except the screen turns white instead of turning off. The battery drains really fast because of the white screen.

I use this phone for work every day. It will be difficult to give it up for a long peiod of repair. Plus I wonder about the chances of it being restored to normal function. I know you can't tell without seeing it, but would you think it is worth trying to save, or should I just go ahead and upgrade to a new phone now?

HI there,

Better not to turn it ON to avoid possible short circuit on the phone board inside. the unit board may need to be dry using the special tools that will also refresh all small parts connected to it. in this case you may need help, you will need to send it out for repair or better to bring it into blackB service centers.

Hope this initial info/idea helps.

Let me know for further assistance.

on repair there 50/50 chances to restore the phone into normal function, but for me better use a new one than a recondition unit, if it's very important & you always use it every time..

There is a yellow blinking light on my Black jack

Return to the carrier for warranty repair.

If you are out of warranty there are some options you can choose from

1. Get repaired
2. New phone
3. external charging source

The external battery charger runs about 20 dollars on ebay with an extra battery.

Blackjack 2 has a white screen

i dont know if this will work but tyou can try to do a master reset.
1. turn phone off
2. remove memory and sim cards
3. push and hold up button and turn phone on while holding.
4. it will ask if you want to reset. yes.
if this does not work then the display is probably bad.
let me know if this works by posting a reply.

I dropped my blackjack II on the concrete the other day, at first when the screen was supposed to black out it would go to a white screen, then when it stopped doing that the screen would flicker off and...

Fixing it will most likely cost close to getting a new one. Getting a new phone is certainly the easiest answer.

The problem with screen damage, is that most of the screens use lcds (liquid crystal displays) if damaged its hard to repair something that is mostly liquid.

Sorry about your phone. I hope its insured.

Katana II likely water damage... Help!

Take the battery off, unfold the phone, set it in a warm, dry place and pray like heck. plugging it in may help it stay warm but leave it off.
If its minor water exposure it'll likely be fine in 2-3 days.

Tmobile dash frozen on WINDOWS(DIRECT TOUCH TECHNOLOGY SCREEN)

do a sw reset....its possible it was damaged when it was dropped in the water, but not likey....

turn the phone off, press and hold the soft keys (buttons with the lines on them above the home key and back arrow key) and hold it down.....press the power button while you are doing that until the white t-mobile screen will come on, then instead of going to the green windows mobile screen, a black screen with white writing......press the green button....it will get you in your phone but it will erase your info as a result....
