is what way, A) it doesnt show up in my computer? or B) when you put something in, nothing happens

Here is a link to a small download that will fix your problem.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314060

Click on the box that has "Fix It" on it for the download. It's a patch Microsoft put out for CD and DVD drives not recognized by your PC. Good Luck!
