Toshiba TW40H80 40"

Power on by remote produces blinking power light. Reset power by removing power from AC outlet. Power on by remote produces normal startup - good picture and sound. Picture begins to display convergence color problems intermittently. Picture turns to black with blinking power light.

Re: Toshiba TW40H80 40"

The problem with the picture blacking out and the red LED blinking is probably a bad connection on two power supply capacitors. They will be labeled, C809 and C810. Common fault with this chassis. Now for the convergence, do not waist your time re soldering the convergence IC's. Simply replace them and your problems should go away. Good Luck

Re: Toshiba TW40H80 40"

The key to this repair is "intermittant convergence issues".
1) Locate convergence amps ( large IC's mounted on large heatsinks.) On PCB in back.
2)Remove circuit board
3)solder any/all bad connects
4) reassemble - test run

Note:Fuses are not an issue at this time.
Note:Convergence amp IC's should be replaced for durable,
         long-lasting repair.

Re: Toshiba TW40H80 40"

If you are good at electronic repairing then try this
any/all bad connects on convergence board.
Convergence PCB is up front, behind speaker grills/access panel
2.Check both 3.15 amp fuses.Re-install--usually,
no further adjustments needed.
To improve pix quality, remove rear cover--clean RGB lens caps w/soft cloth.
PS:If you are not good at this then there cant be a better thing than giving it for complete servicing

I have a Sharp flat panel model LC-20SH4U. The units power LED light is red. No effect (sound or picture) when remote or on/off switch is activated. The LED light slightly blinks.

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

Hope this may help;

MY Toshiba 65H93 doesn't come on.When I press the power button nothing happen. But when I unplug the it from the AC outlet and plug it back into the AC Outlet I here a clicking sound, but the set still...

Same here! Just happened yesterday after we had a power outage in the neighborhood and when the power to the neighborhood was restored my 65H93 would not power on with the remote or the power button on the front of the TV. I get the same clicking sound when unplugging and or pushing the reset on the front of the TV. I also see a red light come on inside for about a half a second after hitting reset or unplug/replugging it in. I'm thinking it has something to do with the standby circuit not coming on due to some problem with the power supply/circuit board?

Have you found out anything yet? I'll let you know if I find out anything also.

I have a large projection toshiba tv. When I turn it on the red light indicator blinks but tv screen does not go on. Please help and let me know what I am doing wrong. Thank you.

one thing you may try first is disconecting the tv from ac outlet and plug back in ater 20-30 seconds, try to power back on. If nothing happens you're not doing anything wrong it might be that the tv needs circuit repair, the light blinks and you get sound indicateds a possible deflection board problem either horiz out transistor or surrounding circuit if you only get the blinking light no pix or sound could be also indicator of defl circuit failure or switching mode power supply acting up.hope this helps please let this site know if your question was answered.

Blinking yellow light ,no picture or sound.

You have done all you can do. If you had a power outage, when the power came back on a it surged and probably caused a Power Supply problem or something in the micro controller to fail. Either way it 's not good. I would call Toshiba and let them guide you to a Service Facility that can check it out. Depending on your Homeowners Insurance, repairs could be coverd or unit be replaced depending on cost to repair.
Sorry I am not able to help further,

Toshiba projection tv

Unplug the TV from the outlet for about 30 seconds. This will reset the microprocessor. Re apply AC and power on the TV. If your lucky the set will come on and play. If not, the red light will start blinking again indicating shutdown. There are many reasons for the set to go into shutdown, but one of the most common cause is failure of the convergence output IC`s. If your TV is in shutdown, you will need to find a qualified technician for proper diagnosis and repair.

Mitsubishi WS73713 - Now working - Timer light flashing.

My Mitsubishi WS-73713 had the same blinking green timer light problem and would not turn on. I tried the reset button and unplugging power to no avail. I found that by simultaneously holding down the remote control "power" button and "volume" button for about 30 seconds the blinking light would go out and a solid green light would come on. Even though the solid green light came on the unit would still not power up. After doing this several times however the unit did finally power up in a normal mode and appears to be working again. It's worth trying before calling in for an expensive repair. PS - From here on out I'm sticking with SONY or Toshiba sets which have given be great service.

TV auto shut off-power indicator light blinking-won't turn back on

You could have gotten an electrical surge that put your set into a shutdown condition and unplugging the set and letting the Microprocessor reset will fix this problem if it dosent blow out the main power regulator as you still or might I say have a regulator IC problem. IF THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN MORE THEN A FEW TIMES WITHIN A SMALL TIME FRAME I WOULD HAVE THE SET LOOKED AT BEFORE THE REGULAOR BLOWS SOMETHING OUT!!!!
