Question about Mitsubishi VS-50805 50" Rear Projection Television
Okay, so here's the problem. I bought the TV back in 1999 and up until around June I had no problems with it. Then one night, the video seemed to flicker slightly when I was watching a dvd. Thought nothing of it, went to bed. Next day, turned the tv on and here's what everything looked like:
I did some initial research but came up empty handed and only to try a hard reset by unplugging everything, letting it sit and trying again. I did this and 4 days later (without using it) I plugged everything in and it worked fine. I didn't use it much over the course of the next few months, but it did this same exact thing twice. It seems like it'll act like this, then after sitting off it'll go back to normal for a while, then right back to this.
Most recently, I turned it on, everything was fine. Let it sit with my satelite on for a while, then it randomly went right back to this. I didn't hear any clicks or pops when it switched back to this messed up mode.
Here's a closeup of the screen:
Some reading makes it seem like the convergence is way off, but I can't adjust it through the TV's screen settings.
Anyone know what's wrong?
Soldering convergence amps is a temporary fix........Since the
labor is about the same,it's best to change-out both Ic's.Your
pix should return to near normal, with minimal adjustments
