See if it will run a bit longer in safemode
tap F8 as it boots - then choose "safemode with networking" - see if that works
If it does - then try doing a clean boot - details here
Now if it works when booted normally - you will need to go back into the configuration tool and find out which program is causing the issue - reply here if that's the case, and I can work you through the detail

To answer your question, I would try uninstalling your add ons 1 or 2 at a time to see which one will fix er back up. If that does not work, get Revo uninstaller from download.com and use it remove firefox (and java) completely. You can download the newest version any time for free. Personally I dont like a lot of background processes so I use the portable version of firefox which is also free.
check the formats of the keys. if they are NTFS they might not be recognized by earlier Windows versions. What version of windows does the laptop computer use? It may be as simple as using the correct formatting (FAT or FAT32) on the USB memory key.
It seems that need to make a clean installation of winXP_SP3, but on a partion that did not host the OS, like D or E, install it and then try recovery on c drive and hopefully you should get it back unless it has become overwritten the Vista installation files & subsequent operations. iI this is the paid for version just uninstall it and reload it .If it is the free version go to download.com and download the new 8.0 as a save file .Then off line uninstall the old version and install the new one . Only one can be active at a time. Some times it will uninstall the old one for you when asked.
Sorry to inform you but you cant downgrade from vista to xp on this model I have found most systems that are designed to run vista lose several drivers when downgraded to xp.
the only solution that will restore drivers would be to reload vista by purchasing an upgrade version of vista (this allows an upgrade from xp to vista and will restore drivers only catch is your xp operating system must be xp home with sp2(service pack 2).
When you removed vista from your machine you actually downgraded by replacing the vista operating system with XP.
I have Vista Home Premium and I hotsync my peg-n760c using Palm Desktop. It came with version 4.1, but it was a disaster. The Cd is old and isn't compatible with Vista. So I downloaded an upgrade from Palm.com and I definitely don't use the Jukebox software that came with it either. Go to Palm.com and download PalmDesktop Win62.exe and install it. It should recognize your USB connection and hotsync immediately. Also, use Windows Media Player and change the files to mp3 by using a free program called Switch. Just google Switch and download the basic program. Then load the mp3 files onto your memory stick in Windows Explorer. Then use MSimport to load the memory stick files into your handheld. Good luck! terymo2
Hi, you have unfortunatly met the same fate as a lot of unsuspecting people. VISTA does not support most older plugin devices or earlier version soft ware. It is possible to run an old old program designed for WIN 3.1 but none of the later top line products. It is the same for Hardware. My advice is to locate a set of drivers for your new computer system that work with XP and delete VISTA then install XP.
