I have a Bang&Olufsen Beogram

Similar to most Beogram 1800, the RX 2 featured record sizing by weight. When Play was selected, the centre part of the platter would raise gently, with only just enough force to lift a 45RPM single. An LP would be too heavy to lift, so the mechanism would set itself to 45RPM and 18cm if the record lifted, 33RPM and 30cm if it did not. The speed control keys could then be used to override the choice for non-standard records. The parts could also detect if a record was not present, and prevent the turntable being activated
Just put lp on and it should work

Beogram 1100 not turning

If your platter runs off of a belt then the belt would need to be replaced after many years especially if its been in storage. Another thing is, if you can see the motor with the flywheel on it, it is a good idea to spray just a little WD-40 down the shaft to free up the motor and just let it run for several hours after the table was sitting dormant for so long.

I just bought a aiwa turntable & stereo at yard sale. the old lady said she never used it but yet the turntable will not turn. i've looked over the manual and can't find any troubleshooting. can you...

Hi Denise, I am in the consumer electronics repair industry. It may be as simple as this... Lift up the MAT on the turn table. This is the black rubber covering that you place the record on. Look through the holes in the plastic turntable (rotate if necessary) until you see the motor/pulley shaft sticking up (brass color). The turntable belt may have dislodged from this pulley. If you see the black flat rubber belt near here, just put it around the pulley again. Make sure it is not twisted and sits flat. Spin table by hand to be sure it is seated properly.
Now you may have to remove the plastic turntable itself if you can't see the belt right away. In this case, remove the C-clip with a flat screwdriver (be sure not to lose it) from the record center post. Lift the turntable plate up shaft. Check to see if the belt is still partially around the plate. You may be able to just see enough to wrap the belt around the motor pulley now. If you need to take the plate off completely, then just place the belt first around the groove on the plate and finese the belt around the motor pulley. Now seat the plate, replace the C-clip and place the MAT back on and it should be good to go.
I had this same problem on a new turntable I got for free. Good luck : )

The belt on my turn table came lose

01- Remove the rubber cushion.
02- Remove the Turntable Platter
03- Place your drive belt around the ridge inside the platter
(Make sure that it is not twisted)
04-Place your Turntable Platter back on the unit
05-rotate your platter until you can see a brass knob through one of the round holes in the turntable. (Your belt must be placed around the brass knob) The best way is to take a toothpick and carefully slide it under the drive belt and then pull it out enough that you can place it around the knob. I had the same problem and the above works. If you still have problems getting it back on contact me 352-377-1828......
