Question about Microsoft Internet Explorer 8

1 Answer

I recently upgraded to IE8, and now it wipes my entire browsing history automatically. I can't find where the settings would do that. It keeps the history as long as the window is still open. After you close the window, it erases EVERYTHING. I am not a first time user. I know about the advanced tab under internet options and the Empty Temporary Internet Files When the Browser is Closed was already unchecked or otherwise i would not have came here

I always have to log in

It is for making your Facebook account more secure, if you want to keep you logged in Facebook, you can check the option "Remember me".
Also it may happen if your Internet Explorer settings has set to automatically delete history, passwords, active log ins and your cache every time you close your browser.

You can change the settings by following the steps given below:

Open Internet Explorer browser, open "Tools" menu and then under the 'General tab' you see browsing history
Uncheck the 'Delete browsing history upon exit'. You are done!

Each time i go to facebook i have to loggin

Facebook needs to be able to remember your computer and browser info so they can recognize it next time you log in. Some browser features block this. If you turned on private browsing or set up your browser to clear your history every time it closes, you might have to enter a password every time you log in.
Check out your browser's instructions on how to turn these features off:
Mozilla Firefox
Internet Explorer
Safari
Chrome

My facebook chat is disable

To enable Facebook chat, follow this instruction about the HTTPS (secure browsing).
To turn on Secure Browsing (https), navigate to your Account Settings page. Click the "Change" link next to Account Security, check the box under "Secure Browsing (https)" and then click the "Save" button.
If this doesn't work, upgrade your browser. If you are using IE8, upgrade it to higher version.

Performance problems/slowdown wtih Internet Explorer 8?!?

Hi,
IE8 runs slightly slower than IE7 due to the fact that it has more built-in security features and additional features. Also, some antivirus softwares and too much unused / accumulated data in the form of temporary internet files and cookies in your PC slow-down the browsing experience.

To clean up temporary internet files, click on the Tools button on the IE toolbar, select Internet Options from the menu which comes up. Then on the General page, under Browsing History section click on Delete button. Then you can select the items which you want to delete, then click on Delete> click on OK.

You can also try Google Chrome browser which is one of the fastest browser. Download link: http://www.google.com/chrome

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks.
