My oven is comimg up with the F4 fault message?

Hello Rose,
The error code F4 are code that mean their is a problem with the oven tempature sensor and that sensor is uncappable of telling the control board what the temp. is in the oven. This is what the sensor looks like,oldtech2332_20.jpgTo check the sensor, unplug it and place meter leads into the white plastic plug at the end and check for between 1060-1100 ohms of resistiance when its good.

The F4 error code is for sensor that has a open circuit,so instead of the 1060-1100 of a good it the display on the meter will show infinate resistiance ( the meter display will not change)

If at room tempature when checking the oven sensor if the display shows anything other that 1060-1100 ohms the sensor is going to be the problem and needs to be replaced.

Hello! I have a Thermador double oven and it is beeping F-7 as it is finishing up a self-cleaning. In addition I am also getting F-1 F-1. The bottom oven cleaned and unlocked with no problems. Now the...

Hello, Per my manual:

F7 - This is caused by close contact to the control panel for more then 32 seconds, such as someone leaning against the controls or objects hanging in front of controls.

F-1 - Touch OFF or turn power off at the circuit breaker, wait 3 minutes and turn it back on. If condition persists, note the code number and call an authorized servicer.

Hope this helps,

Broken glass AEG hob

If it is just the edge of the corner glass not a lot you can do if it is broken nearer the inside be very careful as the weight of pans can cause the break to spread.Check serial no. on base of hob body the first 2 digits are the year and 3rd digit is weeks in year. For example 92800055 that would be 2009 and 28th week equals july 2009.Any AEG unit has 2years full warranty.Check and you might be able to claim new glass.Hope this helped.

Hi Andy. I have the same problem with mine, just had a repair man come out and the bottom heating element had gone. Don't know if this is a common fault, but maybe the first place to look.

Heating element remains on

Hello JLH2433,
Depending on thebrand and model.. you may have one of several problems with your stove. Your heating element power may be get its power via a relay or contactor which may be stuck on all the time. To de-energize it, you remove main power and it actuates to the Normally Open position but when you select that element to be turned on and the contactor/relay is switched from Normally Open to energized and Normally Closed, it provises power to that element. You may have a bad relay/contactor ofr the controller is defective. Removing power will deenergize the relay/contactor but that contactor is a slave to the controller, 50/50 which component is the root cause of your problem..

Supressor, transient

Hello hward,

You said, Hello from Baton Rouge, La. just recently nailed by Hurricane Gustav.......
during the hype of the storm, I think my wife's double oven took a electric surge and started smoking. I visually inspected the damage and saw a badly burnt and scarred flat saucer looking component (suppressor, transient)...I have ordered a replacement part and would like to know if you think that replacing this item will be all I will need to do..

If the range was under water I do not think this will be the only problem.
I believe it will cause you endless problems if it got submerged!
you may end up replacing this water logged unit!

Thank You ,Please remember to leave a rating
