Question about Mintek MDP-1720 Portable DVD Player

1 Answer

Cord. you have to jiggle it at the junction box to play and it goes on and off. ALso will not charge.

Something is wrong with the cord/battery pack. You have to jiggle it at the junction to get the player to work and it won't keep playing. It goes on and off.

I had a similar problem with my stereo. Check the cord out, it should have two little metal "pins". Try to make them smaller in size. Like squeezing them. That should make it a bit harder to plug it in to the player, but you are sure it is making a connection. Too loose, loose connection.

What can be done about the draining of the battery by the jb power fuse on the 2002 grand Cherokee right hand drive

What ? jb power fuse ? Why don't you say what jb is ? I'm assuming you mean junction box . Were not mind readers ! Regardless you have a parasitic draw on one of the circuits in the junction box , Hook up a amp meter between the negative battery post an negative battery cable . Shouldn't have more then 50 milliamp draw . Pull the fuse's one at a time till the drain goes away . Look at a wiring diagram for that circuit to see what all is on it . isolate an fix . Dropped my new zte n9130 boost mobile phone when it was just about dead . Went to charge it and no light no charge and not turning on?? Is this product a good one?

You may have knocked loose the little "plug" that your charger fits into to charge it. It is soldered onto the board inside and, and if it is no longer attached it won't charge anymore.

See if the plug jiggles a bit if you play with it when a cord is plugged in. If it moves that is a problem and means that you need a repair. Even if it doesn't move, it may just be packed in there tight but is still broken.

Why does voltage at circuit breaker read 120V and less than one volt at dishwasher junction box?

Say, do you want to play with this?
Could you disconnect the wires at the dishwasher junction box, (remembering exactly where they go) and find an extension cord you could plug in somewhere else to get electricity to the junction box that way? Obviously, you should need to have bare wires to hook to the junction box, so you might be sacrificing an old extension cord, or you might be using romex wire, or something like separate wires. Just be sure you know what you are doing so you don't get ZAPPED. God bless your efforts.

Replaced battery 2 months agoon HP zd7010 when I kept getting low battery/cannot charge/must shut down. If I removed battery and was connected to power cord, the laptop would boot/work. Now getting same...

know one here can answer any of that.
if the power pack is good, 19vdc in to the mobo then its GOOD>
if not not.
if the battery is bad, it can cause a dead system. shorted batteries do that, so leave it out. and run on the power pack
why not do that?
lets say battery out it still fails..
so the power pack is bad or the jack on PC is bad.
ive seen cloned battery packs from china fail in 1week
many. if you watch the news ,some catch fire, and lots of recalles.
even hp.com has recalls.... for this... as do all makers....
Batteries by there nature are problematic, for 100 years now...

whats the point there? use HP packs?

why not have 2 batteries , so when one fails the other yells
see I WORK>?

I have a 2003 suburban that keeps displaying a battery not charging code. I have changed the battery and the alternator. Need advice please help.

Try hotwiring the alternator charge terminal directly to the battery positive terminal. If this eliminates the code, your fusible link is bad or the wire is loose in the junction box. If it doesn't eliminate the code, something is wrong with the PCM or the wiring to the PCM. Pull the connector off the alternator and check the terminals on both the alternator and the connector for good contact.
PCM failure would be very unusual in this mode. If you have questions, please let me know.

Electrical connected directly to the negative terminal

First of all I don't recall any additional wiring or a junction box being attached to the negative battery terminal of a Ford Escort. I do however remember these things being fixed to the positive terminal...

The first thing that should happen is your battery should be removed from the car and fully charged and tested and replaced if necessary. I suggest you note; in the case of a completely discharged battery it is possible to inadvertantly connect the battery charger wrongly and charge the battery back-to-front or so the polarity is reversed.

Once there is a known good battery fitted to the car the correct way around and with any bad connections to or near the battery repaired it will be possible to begin the process of diagnosing the original problem(s).
A car that started with a jump start should now start from the key and the charging system can be tested and repaired if found defective..

I suggest you entrust the work to an experienced person...

JVC Camcorder - used wrong power lead to charge battery

They sell external battery chargers for these for around 10 bucks at Amazon. Just pop the battery in the charger. Beware the battery itself can be worn down or dead. It also has protection circuits right inside the battery that can be blown (maybe a small fuse too). A new high capacity battery (3 times the recording time) is also at Amazon for around $25.

Toshiba wont charge

Sound like you may have the wrong power cord for your unit. The original power adaptor for the A105 is 75W (15V x5A) Auto sensing 100-240V/50-60MHz frequency input. If you got a replacement adaptor, I would reccomend a 75W or higher adaptor. (A new opposed to a used one.) Good Luck.

Wireless controller issue

The fact that the controller is not syncing to your console even when connected via the Play and Charge cable leads me to believe that your controller is more or less "a goner". The wireless controllers should automatically sync with the console when plugged in via the cable, so since yours doesn't sync I would guess there is something wrong with the IC chip inside and somehow something got corrupted.

Out of curiosity, when you plug in the cable how can you tell the controller is on if it doesn't sync? Do the lights continuously spin around in a circle? Do they just flash? Does quadrant 1 light up like normal but pressing buttons on the controller doesn't do anything?
