Ruud Furnace won't turn on

I have a Ruud Achiever 90 Plus Premium Efficiency Furnace that is only a few years old.  When I turn up the thermostat the furnace will start up but shut off  within a few moments.  The led light, which reads OK, will blink twice then stop, blink twice then stop over and over.  The Flame light will not go on.  Any ideas what could be wrong.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

The gas lights.... but the gas valve keeps clicking.. works with the clicking and the cover off.. once the cover is put back the gas goes off. The circuit board was replaced, the gas valve was replaced.. the installer is going to replace the wiring harness... This unit is brand new.. it never worked without the clicking. The other four units in adjoining houses on my compound work perfectly. Any ideas?

Take of the access panel on the furnace and look for a wiring diagram either on the back of the panel or inside the housing. There will be a diagnostic chart on it that will give you a hint what 2 flashes mean. I think it is a "no Ignition" code. If it is, with the access panel off and the door switch taped in the closed position, the furnace will try to start if the thermostat is calling. You want to look at the control module to see if it is flashing, then you should notice a small fan that pushes out the combustion products start to turn. Then if you look in a small view port, you should see an orange glow followed by a clicking noise at the gas valve. Then you should notice a blue flame in the view port. This flame must stay on for 5-6 seconds or the unit will turn it self off. If one of these do not happen, you will need a technician to troubleshoot it. Check to see if all wires and hoses are tight and in place. Make sure your condensate hoses are not blocked and free of water. Make sure there is no blockage in your vent pipe(s).

Upon further evaluation of the valve clicking problem, I discovered that when the drain pipe (leader) is disconnected from the induced draft fan outlet, the clicking is less frequent and the gas flame is more stable. Also, from this condensate drain (that is connected to the pipe that leads to the ejection pump sump) very little water comes out.. and a steady exhaust gas blows out of it. I also noticed that in the main PVC exhaust pipe leading to the outside of the house, water sounds can be heard.. Is what I describe normal? Should gas fumes be going into the house through the condensate drain?. Appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

I am installing an Emerson programmable thermostat. We have a Ruud furnace achiever 90 plus that was installed 14 years ago. The thermostat mentions a power stealing switch.

The Ruud furnace is probably compatible. Power stealing is a way to recharge the thermostat battery from the 24vac control voltage used to operate the furnace. If you install the Thermostat in the "separate power supply mode" it does not need to power steal ever and will be much more reliable. Some thermostats don't get enough power in the power steal mode to keep the battery reliably recharged, especially during the cold winter months because the poiwer available to "power steal" is highest when the furnace is NOT running. You will need a separate 24 vac transformer and some wire.

I have a Rudd Achiever 90 plus Premium Efficiency Model# UGRA09EZAJS Serial# Y5D707F460504955 mfd date 11/2005, It blow a cold air after turn the heat on and set it on position instead of auto, temp set...

When you set the the switch to ON, I'm assuming that is the fan control? You should leave that on AUTO. The furnace will turn the fan on when the heat exchanger reaches a preset temperature. Which will prevent COLD air from coming out of your vents.

My Ruud Achiever 90 Plus not blowing cooled air

Look on the condensor, (outdoor unit) at the very bottom of the rear panel and you should find a red reset button. push it. If that does not solve the problem, and the outdoor unit is running (make sure both the fan AND the compressor are running) then you are looking at a low refridgerant issue and possibly dirty coils.

In that case, clean the coils and have refridgerant added.

Ruud achiever 90 plus blower not working

does the furnace ignite?? your system may not have been lighting and has gone into ignition lockout count the codes of the led lights then remove panel led diagnostic codes are listed there.
if led codes indicate no problem verify capacitor is good and that mtr is getting 115 volts.
