My Wii console was fine when I left it yesterday but today shows no signs of life at all - no lights are on. I unplugged it and everyting connected to it and left it unplugged for a few minutes and tried it again by just plugging the powere cord back in but still no luck. Any suggestions?

After lots of surfing around, I found a suggestion that said to unplug the power supply from BOTH the Wii AND the wall for a few minutes because the power supply block has to reset itself. (I had only been unplugging it from the back of the Wii) Try it!! It works!!!! | wish I could find it again because I'd like to thank the person! Too bad Nintendo doesn't tell you this!!

Wii won't turn on.

Reset the AC adapter by following steps below.

1. Unplug the Wii AC adapter at both ends (from the back of the
Wii system and from the wall outlet or power strip).

2. After you've waited a full 2 minutes, plug the AC adapter back in on both ends and check to see if the power light comes on.

My wii won't turn on

Wii Console Won't Turn On, and Has No Power Light Situation:
  • The Wii console won't power on, and the Power LED is unlit
  • The console powers on, but shuts off after a few seconds/minutes
  • Attaching an accessory to the console turns the power off

Information:
This issue can be caused by an accessory or power surge tripping the circuit breaker on the AC Adapter.

What To Do:
  • Check any accessories attached directly to the console to make sure that it is licensed and undamaged. Unlicensed or damaged accessories shouldn't be used with the console.

  • Try using a different wall outlet, or plug a different device into the outlet to make sure the outlet is providing power.

  • Perform an AC Adapter Reset. (How To)

Won't turn on..I have checked all the connections to the power source but still nothing

Unplug the power cord from the wall and the wii for 5 minutes. Then plug all back together. You just need to reset the power block.

My wii console will not come on.I have tried unplugging it and then plugging it in 15 minutes later but it still does not work.It was working fine earlier this week.

My husband unplugged the power cord from the unit and the power source to test it and found the transformer was working fine. He then plugged it back into the unit and then into the power source and it was working again!!!! I don't know why, but who cares when you can use it again. Good luck...I hope this works for you, also

Wii power source probably broken

Plug something else into the adapter to make sure it works, if it works you may have blown the Wii's fuse which will need repair.

I had this issue before with a particular disc, as well. It may have been LUCK, but unplugging the Wii from the power source for 2 minutes resolved that problem somehow, also.
Hope it helps!

When this same thing happened to me, I unplugged the Wii power supply from the wall (not just from the back of the Wii) and let it sit unplugged for about 10 minutes. When I plugged it back in, everything was fine.
