If you are running XP the bluetooth card is not detected automatically.
You will need to download and install the Bluetooth driver for the card that you have.

You will need to know which bluetooth adapter card you have as there are different models for the D610 such as 355, 350 etc

Dont install the blue tooth drivers for the laptop - let windows deal with bluetooth and it should work fine assuming its got bluetooth and that bluetooth is enabled ( on off slider switch on the side )

I will post back tomorrow with specific info but have to go out for now. If you have any blue tooth drivers remove them using add / remove programs and then let windows deal with the bluetooth and it should be fine as per above

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: setup bluetooth

To use Bluetooth you need to have the Bluetooth module installed.
This is located in the battery compartment.
You can purchase the Bluetooth device on Ebay for around £9

Once the module is installed you will need to load the drivers to enable.

I want to know how to tell if my Dell D610 has the hardware for bluetooth

Nope...it seams that this model do not have any blue-tooth port ..but just a infrared data port ..so if you need to use blue-tooth on it you have to get a blue-tooth USB adapter ..and use it on the usb port ..

Module Bay

The D610 second battery is installed in the slot occupied by the CD Rom.
This is an additional omponent that can be purchased to extend the battery life for the laptop.

Unless you have this battery module installed the error is completely normal.
