Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Audio cuts out on my reciever

Integra 8.2 The audio cuts out intermittently, for just a fraction of a second. Only have noticed when watching hi-def cable stations. Sounds like your changing the channel and the audio switches from Dolby to regular. The recievers display indicates dolby and is not switching to another mode. I've had the cable company out twice and they say it must be the reciever. No problems with DVD's or regular def cable stations or any other audio inputs. Have tried optical and coax audio inputs from cable box. Is ther any way to over-ride the audio output just to test, or manually put the reciever in all channel stereo when it sees dolby and automatically selects it?

hi,
First of all you have to check the speakers impedance. It should be 8 Ohms.
if the Ohms of the speaker is lower than 8 Ohms, it will overload the amplifier and will over heated and will switch off to prevent further damages. try to use speakers which have impedance of 8 ohms.

I have a AVR-591. I hooked everything up and all works great. The only thing I want to know is when I turn off the receiver I have no TV. How do I bypass the receiver so I can watch TV without the reciever...

You said the magic word - BYPASS.

Your TV source is probably a cable or sat box. They usually have multiple audio and video OUTputs and most TV's have multiple audio and video INputs.

Run the box's analog RCA Audio Out to the TV (assuming it has speakers). Set the box's internal volume setting (if it has one) to FIXED and modulate theTV volume with ITS control.

HI-DEF:

Lacking sufficient hi-def inputs on the TV, I'd elect for Component Video from the box and HDMI from your BD player, if you have one. Cable video is bit-rate compromised while BD source is NOT so BD should get the best connection.

I personally have NO high-end video going into my receiver and no high-end audio going to my TV. Why bother with hops?

Check the audio settings on your receiver and make sure they match those of the output on your blue ray. Also make sure you are using the correct inputs/outputs on both

My SR607 also cuts out from time to time. My experience is that this is an issue of overheating, and protection circuits shut the thing down. Once it cools, seems to work ok. I have plenty of space around the unit, but still it seems to overheat, especially when playing hi-def / digital audio material.

Audio cuts of during graphics, Onkyo TX-SR706

I have a TX-SR505 and the same thing has been happening on mine since I bought it. I am also hooked up to a Panasonic Plasma, using the optical cable to the receiver. It's been perplexing me. I have noticed it typically during commercials, not during normal programming. If I turn up the volume on the Panasonic TV, I can hear the audio, so I know it's not a problem with the over the air signal. It must be something wrong with the reciever. Would love a fix to this!

Im having trouble connecting my xbox, cable box, and Hi def. tv

greetings, you should be able to use rca cables for simple connectivity. hook the x box up to the tv as you would normally on the back or side of the tv there should be audio inputs and audio outputs. xbox signal goes to input and rca cables from output on tv to aux or tv input on your reciever. then make sure that whatever audio input jacks you connected your tv to your reciever with are the same as the function or mode input on the front of the reciever. if you need more assistance look your reciever up on the manufacture's website and diagrams should be available in the search portion of the website
hope this helps
