Question about LG LRFC25750 Refrigerator French Door

Noise from fridge when doors are closed.

Opening fridge stops fan or something...noise stops. Noise resumes once doors shut. Not a squealing sound...more like a dat, dat, dat, dat sounds. Speeds up from stopped when doors are shut.

We have the same problem, except it's intermittent (doesn't always happen). The solution given about a faulty door switch is definitely wrong since either door switch turns off the noise when door is open.. The evaporator fan is unlikely to be the problem because our refrig is not warm inside

There is a good chance this is the culprit.

Servicing the Evaporator Fan

In some cases, a faulty thermostat may not be the cause of a warm refrigerator or freezer. A warm box may also be caused by a defective fan, a blocked fan, or broken or bent fan blades. If the blades are jammed, try to free them. If they're bent, straighten them with pliers. If this doesn't solve the problem, call a professional service person.

On some refrigerators, the door switch operates the evaporator fan. If the fan seems to be malfunctioning, the door switch could be faulty. Test the switch as detailed in the last page, and replace it if necessary.

Some fan making a loud noise. When open either

It sounds like it is probably your evaporator fan, seeing as that fan will cycle off when the door is open, and resume when you close the door. Either some how something got in to it, or it is going bad. Hope this helps

Loud whirring noise that stops when freezer door is open.

It is most likely your circulation fan in the freezer. Normally the fan stops when you open the door. It is a normal operation. Check to make sure that the fan is not blocked by frozen items or that the fan doesn't have an ice build up. On some models the fans stops when you open the door and starts a few minutes later after you close the door.

Amana Bottom Freezer door when shut starts a noise

The light is switched on and off by a small lever which is pushed when closing or opening the door. This operates a microswitch. It would not make any grinding noise. Grinding noise can come from the fanmotor which would also stop when the fridge door is open.
