Re: Activating Ace Aspire 5100 Key Board Volume Control
Not absolutely positive about your model, but on some the volume icons are on the buttons on keyboard along with the keys having something else on them. if thats the case to activate the volume probably requires holding the Fn key + Key with the volume Up/Dwn icon on it.

The final volume depends on de Hardare and on the application you are running (audio/video(phone). First of all, try to find in your keyboard colored sound symbols, usually red small for lower and big for raising volum in some standard (F11-F12 ??) function keys which works when activated simultaneous with "windows" key between left ctrl and alt keys. Your screen must show then volum control while in use. If it is at maximun you have to check it down in the individual volume control of your application.
Right click on the megaphone located at the bottom right near the time. You can adjust the volume there.
Look on your keyboard and normally you can Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard then hit one of the 3 keys with the megaphone that adjusts the volume (1 key increases the volume, 1 key decreases the volume and 1 key mutes the volume).
You can adjust the volume in the Control Panel's audio or sound properties. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Sound or Audio.
There are other ways to change the volume. You can probably change it by Pressing and Holding the FN function key at the lower left portion of the keyboard then hit the appropriate volume key. The volume keys will have a little megaphone on them. There will be three of them, one to increase, decrease or mute the volume.
You can also change the volume by clicking Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Volume Control.
Also you can change the volume in the Control Panel by going to the Audio or Sound. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Audio or Sound.
Go to Control Panel.
1. Click on Keyboard.
2. When the Keyboard Properties come up, CLICK on Key Settings.
3. Then set up the keys by selecting the Key to be changed.
Hope this will help some. Bud
