Question about Canon PowerShot SD30 Digital Camera
When in daylight mode or taking pics outside it will take a bright white picture. Spent lots of hours playing with the settings and it just will not take pics outside.
Sorry to say this sounds like a stuck open shutter mechanism. Put the camera in any mode other than auto and make certain that you turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself in the following step). Next look down the center of the lens barrel and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker (wonder where that website got that name?) in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen then it's likely stuck.
