My Visonic GSM module is not sending SMS messages with status report to my cell phone. Everything is set up the way it is supposed to in the GSM menu, and I can turn the alarm system on and off by sending text messages to the alarm. Also, the GSM module is calling me as it is supposed to, when the alarm goes off. Only problem is that I am not able to make it send SMS messages. I have checked the SIM card in a regular phone, and that is working fine, also with respect to sending/receiving SMS messages. Anybody who have been in a similar situation?
I purchased an AT&T Go Phone to use it's sim card in my gsm module. It did not work. I called AT&T and they told me the gsm module is not supported. I then purchased a T-Mobile prepaid phone and installed it's sim card in the gsm module and it works perfect every time.

If you turned on 'delivery reports', and the status show 'message sent', when you send them, but it shows 'pending' upon awaiting delivery report, then the problem is either that the number you sent the message to is unavailable, or there is a network problem. Try dialing the numbers. If they go through, then it is a network problem. Contact your mobile service operators and let them know what is going on. But if the numbers dont go through, then they are probably unavailable to receive the sms.
If your 'delivery reports' is 'off', then you would have to check that your message centre number is in order. If you are not certain of the number, confirm it with another phone of the same network as yours. You can get your message centre number through; messages> message settings> sending profile> (select the profile in use)> message centre number.

I had the same problem and came to this site for help but the solutions didn't solve the problem of "cannot send text message" on htc touch hd. All service numbers correct. Went to START/SETTINGS/CONNECTIONS/ADVANCED NETWORK/SMS SERVICE then changed from "gprs" to "gprs preferred". Double checked and had reverted to "GSM" but sms now works - finally!!! Hope this helps.
yeah, if you go into messages> setting> text messages> sending options> request delivery report that should activate it, just remeber there is often a small charge for having this feature activated, for every report you recieve.
that's controlled by your service provider, give them a call, they may be able to control the amount of time before it rolls to the message bank. If it's a GSM phone, you can set that yourself, like so:
To get the current call forwarding status, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.
Write down the number(ignore the +1), this is the phone number that your calls are currently being diverted to.
into your phone using the phone number (numbers only) as reported by
the status & the delay can be set to (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30)
To verify that the settings are correct, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.
