Cannot enable wifi with Fn + F10, stopped working.
I have an Advent 9315, and use the Fn + F10 keys to enable the wifi. Today though this does not work. Is there an alternative way of enabling the wifi?

1. Please enter into BIOS setup after powered on laptop and check whether the wifi is enabled or not. if not enabled, enable it.
2. Even not working, after loading operating system. goto run -> devmgmt.msc -> please check any yellow marks, red marks avaible , then update the drivers.
3. Install the Wireless Lan drivers from the drivers CD came the laptop.
Please clean the key board and try with fn+f10.
Check is there any switc/slider to enable the wifi for your laptop.
Advent 4211 always require you to enable it everytime you turn the laptop on. it is Fn key + F10 I think. Look for the Function key at the top of your keyboard which has a picture of a webcam. Hold down the FN key at the bottom left, and then click on the correct 'F' key. You should see a little picture come up on the screen to say you have enabled your webcam. That should work.
Hi! Try to use the function key: FN+F11 to enable the wireless adapter. Check device manager if driver is properly installed. If yes, try to update the driver:right click on the realtek wireless LAN in device manager and then choose properties and then click update, choose automatically look for update from internet. If this doesnt work try to uninstall and reinstall the driver (make sure you restart the system after reinstalling the driver). If you have AVG as your anti virus sw try to disable it or uninstall it and then check if it will work.hope this will help...
Please find the key combination (for wireless/switch) for different Advent laptop models:
Advent 7096 ---- Button next to the power button Advent 7100 ---- Fn / F2 Advent 7104 ---- Fn / F2 Advent 7201 ---- wireless key top right and then Fn / F2 Advent 8117 ---- small slide switch on the front of laptop
The wireless is enabled on this laptop by pressing the function (Fn) key and F10 key at the same time. The wireless needs to be turned on every time the computer is restarted.
Fn+F10 - Enable/ Disable Wireless
This model is not bluetooth enabled but yoy can buy and install a blurtooth adapter (dongle)
Once the adapter is inserted to an available USB port the appropriate drivers are installed
You can now access the bluetooth device from the control panel and get connected to any bluetooth enabled device
Press F12, Num Lock, and FN at the same time. OR F12 and Num Lock/ Scroll Key. OR Hold the Ctrl and Fn key down together and press also the Ins(Num LK) key.
Post me whatever the result is... so we could Fixya the problem.
