Re: maytag model

You really need a volt / ohm meter to check for Continuity & VoltsIts well worth the investment... $15.00 bucks give or take a few

I would check to see if you have 220v to back of dryer where the cord mounts to dryer,

If dryer is getting only 1 leg 110 volts instead of the 220 will it not heat.

Check themostates & heater for Continuity... Most models, Now have a.. Hi-limit fuses that need to be checked for Continuity they have to be replaced

My Maytag dryer, model LDE 712, seems to complete the cycle in all selections, but does not stop when finished. This is so in both the automatic and timed selection. Advancing the timer manually to the...

Most likely the timer is bad. The contacts in there get badly carboned up/pitted over time and will sometimes not make contact when they should. You could try using a small nail file to clean them. Only problem is there are quite a few in there. It may be more cot efective to get a rebult unit.

Dryer not heating. It's a Maytag LDE 312 Series 7 dryer.

Check out the entire venting exhaust tubes for lint build up. A moister sensor will detect any lint build up and keep the heat off. It is a saftey precaution dryers have to prevent fires starting in the home

Maytag Dryer Model #LDE 4916 ACE. Dryer won't start

Sorry, no reset button. If it ran a bit without the belt, it may have overheated and blown one of the thermal fuses. You can find schematics and diagrams at
Good luck.

Dryer not turning off when clothes are dry (model LDE 400ACL)

Normally if you have an automatic cycle that turns off the dryer when the clothes are dry, it will do it with a special thermostat or moisture-sensing system. The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a "pre-set" temperature.
When the dryer reaches the pre-set temperature, the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. If there is a moisture sensor, the timer advances only if the moisture content of the clothing is low enough. The timer advances until the interior cools, then the termostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again. This cycle continues until the clothes are dry. But... if the vent is clogged, the dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry. To fix this problem, clean the vent and/or internal ductwork and make sure the vent is not compressed or kinked. If that doesn't work, then your thermostat, moisture sensor or timer could be the culprit.

Dryer element stays warm

If it heats w/ the timer in off position whenever plugged in the the element is shorting to ground, its most likely due to either a broken coil or a cracked insulator. If heating w/ timer set for drying but motor is not running, the heat circuit thru the centrifugal/start switch on the motor is stuck closed.

NEED TO REPLACE BELT ON MODEL lde 412 series 02 serial no. 618 889 PX

its a maytag,
LDE 412 series 02, the labelling printing machine at Maytag is notoriously crappy

Unplug dryer
Remove two screws at bottom edge of front panel, under the lip facing up so they are hard to see.
  • May be TORX secure screws(star shap with a pin in the middle), TORX secure bits ~$6 at good tool shops, or cut a slot across the head of the screw and use a flat blade, throw the torx away and replace with phillips head screws, easier for next time
tilt front panel up from the bottom and unhook it from the catches
undo door switch cables
place door aside
lift drum out
motor, belt, bearings, felts, are all easily accessible.
check felts and roller bearings before you put the case back on, often a seized bearing is cause of belts breaking

While you have the case off pull all the lint n **** out of vent and motor area
