Sound not working

  • check the device manager if the sound driver is installed properly.
  • Right Click "My Computer" and on the menu choose "Manage"
  • Then on the listed items on the right click "Device Manager"
  • Now the left window will show the devices installed in your computer.
  • Look for " Sound,Video and Game Controllers " and click the " + " sign.
  • Be sure that all the device had been installed properly..if you see a yellow mark with exclamation point it means the device has a problem.
  • You need reinstall the driver using the cd driver of the computer..if you dont have the cd you will need to download the driver.
  • If you know the name of the software for your sound for example (Realtek AC'97) you can search the google for that driver..

Audio +video in xp

All audio and video has its own driver, You must know is which of hardware are you using, e.g. video nvdia geforce XXXX and you dont know exact number simply find everest or any such kind of program in the internet and run it, under Physical devices you will find exact name og your manufacturer and hardware. then visiting oficial page of its manufacturer and download drivers and install it.
PS. Sometimes warez OS soft can't fully interact some devices and have problems so use original OS.

Hi! Mi laptop was working perfect, and suddenly the audio icon has an X on it and says NO AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE IS INSTALLED How can I recover it? Thanks

Did you download or install anything that might tamper around with the audio. If you did then uninstall it and reinstall it, that might help. Alright if that doesn't help then go into Control Panel and click on the Icon that says "Sounds and audio devices." Or something similar.

Play around with the settings and see if your situation improves. You may have to go into the "Audio tab" and set the Sound Playback and default device to what ever your sound card name is. If you dont know what your sound card name is then just play with those settings. Another thing that you could use is system restore.

System restore is in (Start, All programs,Accessories,System tools,System Restore). Restore it to the date that your audio was working fine. System restore wont delete your files or anything.

I have windows xp so things might be different on your computer.

Please rate me a thumbs up if I helped.

I have a problem with the drivers of my motherboard

Try searching for chipset drivers insted of individual drivers. There is another program you can use to detect system hardware and software much like everest. this program is called siw.
