Dishes not cleaning after full cycle running

Your screens are plugged with food residue in the bottom of the unit. clean it out. You can use 1 gallon of white vinegar for your wash after you clean the screens. Start your washer to fill with water but after the water starts, open your door and pore all of the gallon in the unit. Let it now run for 4 minutes and stop it by opening the door. Leave the door slightly open for 1 hour. close the door and let the cycle continue for 4 more minutes. open the door and repeat it a couple of more times. Let it sit all night with the vinegar in it and in the morning - close the door and let the cycle continue to the end. This should help soften and clean out the food particles in the unit. You can repeat the process and get a better cleaning then too. All the scale should be off your dishes now.

How do I get my ge dishwasher to run? the lights

Hello there and welcome to fixya
If electrical power is available to the dishwasher but the appliance doesn't run, the problem is likely to be a defective door switch, timer, or selector switch. Make sure to turn off the power to the dishwasher before attempting any repairs
To solve a door switch problem, you may be able to adjust the door latch's strike slightly, using a screwdriver
then make sure the door closes securly, if this doesent work
please check the timer as follows
Dishwasher timer concerns can be classified into two general categories: the timer cannot be advanced manually and appears to be stuck or intermittent automatic timer advancement.

1. The timer dial cannot be advanced manually and appears to be stuck. Stuck timers are generally caused by objects that prevent the detergent cup from opening, or by a sticky substance between the timer dial and the control panel.
  • Objects that prevent the detergent cup from opening: If your timer will not advance, open the dishwasher door and check for items that may be blocking the detergent cup.

    Also, check the detergent cup:

    • It should be fully closed at the start of a cycle.

    • It should be fully open at the end of the cycle.
    • Almost fully open between main wash and final rinse.

If it is in any other position, try to open or close the cup while at the same time rotating the timer. This should free it up. To prevent a reoccurrence, make sure nothing blocks operation of the detergent cup when the dishwasher door is closed and operating.

  • Sticky substances like orange juice that get between the timer knob and the front of the control panel on some models will bond the timer knob to the control panel. If you have this condition, it will be virtually impossible to rotate the timer knob while gently pressing the knob in toward the dishwasher. It will rotate normally if the knob is gently pulled away from the dishwasher while rotating the knob.

This problem can be solved by gently pulling the knob away from the control panel and cleaning behind the knob with a damp cloth. Do not use excessive force because the knob is attached to the control panel on models affected by this problem. If this operation cannot be performed, service should be contacted to repair the problem.
2. Intermittent automatic timer advancement. This can be described as the timer can be advanced manually, but it does not advance automatically in spots for up to 30 minutes.
  • This is almost always a normal condition and always occurs on models with a "Delay Start" feature.

Delay start timers increment or advance a couple of degrees once every minute or so during most of the cycle. However, during certain parts of the cycle they increment once every 30 minutes. This gives the dishwasher time to do the job of cleaning your dishes. The long increment times occur during "Delay Start", "Hot Start", "Normal Wash" and "Dry" cycles.

The timer will not move at all during these delay periods. This is normal operation and service is not needed. If you notice delay times substantially longer than 30 minutes, replace the timer
  • Also ensue that you are getting adequate water pressure and the unit is getting water inside and that the water is at the right temperature 140 is the min. for most units
  • Please check the above and let me know what you have found so i can continue to help there is a lot of things to check but these that i have provided are the most common thing that need to be checked first ok?
  • Best regards Mike

My Maytag QuietSeries 400 dishwasher won't start. Sometimes 88 flashes on the display and that's all. What does that mean? Model # MDB7601AWB

Dishwasher will not start Is the door open or unlatched?
Make sure the door is completely closed and latched. On models with a dual-digit display, the control displays "- -" during a cycle if it believes the door is not latched. Check for obstructions (spoons, etc), interfering with the door operation. A lower dish rack that is installed backward will also cause incomplete door closure.

Check your household electrical box to see if a fuse has blown or if the circuit breaker has tripped. If the unit has a plug-in power cord, make sure it is plugged in.

Does your dishwasher have a rotary timer knob? (Some Models)
The cycle selection must match the position of the timer knob. Turn the timer knob to the beginning of the preferred cycle. The timer knob should click when you reach the start of the cycle.

Is the control lock option activated?
Press and hold the Heated Dry option (button with lock icon) for three to five seconds and the light should turn off. Instructions are also placed on the label on top of the inner door to unlock the controls.

Is the delay start option activated?
To cancel the delay and cycle, press Cancel/Drain.

Has the motor stopped for less than 10 minutes?
The motor may have stopped due to an overload. If this is the case, the motor will automatically reset itself within 5-10 minutes.

Is the Start/Resume indicator flashing?
Opening the door or interrupting the power can stop the cycle. Close the door and press Start/Resume. If the Start/Resume indicator flashes three times when you press Start/Resume, the dishwasher is waiting for you to open the door after the last cycle. Open and close the door, and then press Start/Resume.
On models where the controls are on top of the door be sure to close the door within 3 seconds of pressing the Start/Resume to start or resume the dishwasher cycle.

Is the water shutoff valve (if installed) turned on?
Make sure that the water shutoff valve is turned on.

Tub leaks, with a partially filled tub (2.5 inches measured from the lowest point over the pump assembly.) Promblem occured after the washer was idle for 3 weeks. Have just replaced the main water inlet...

I am assuming leaking when it is running, not sitting idle. Leaking from the door? Fill and run unit for 1 minute with no detergent. Open door. Are suds present? Suds turn into water when they drop to the floor. Suds can flow over the lip of the tub and drip to the floor. Oversudsing, Sometimes old detergent breakdown. Rinse aid dispenser leaking will cause oversudsing. Combination of all in one products will cause many problems. If suds are present after running unit a minute, pour a cup of cooking oil in unit. Run and fill it a few times until suds are gone. Possible most common cause is dispenser latch grommet.

Wrong dishwashing liquid used created out of control suds won't finish cycle. cleaned away suds towel and wet vac but foes not work

HI- Ah yes, the suds. Your flood switch has probably been tripped. Unplug the machine or flip the breaker. Remove the lower kick panel and you'll see the white plastic bottom of the dishwasher pan. This is designed to catch the water (or suds) if there is a leak or the water (or suds) over fill it. This will take awhile but get some pliable rag and carefully put it in the space between the bottom of the dishwasher and the pan. There is a styrofoam float on the left side about halfway back, this has to be down for the dishwasher to advance the cycle and get out of drain mode. Just keep soaking the water up (you kinda have to go over the plastic lip of the pan and down wherever there is an opening large enough to get the rag into. Once it is pretty dry it should run ok. Regarding the suds. If you get the machine to run ok then start a rinse cycle and once the water is done filling open the door and add about 4 tablespoons of any cooking oil to the water. Shut the door and let the machine run for about 10 seconds, open the door check to see if there are still a lot of suds, if so cancel the cycle to drain the machine and repeat. Hope this helps, good luck.

Soap in JetDry dispenser.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to completely get the detergent out of the rinse aid reservoir in one quick method, short of taking the inside panel off the door.

However, I would try a simple way to flush it out. With the door open almost al the way open, pour warm/hot water into the rinse aid fill hole and keep pouring until you start to get clear water coming out. The water will be flowing back out the fill hole you're pouring the water into and should just flow down the door panel into the dishwasher tub. Try to keep the door about 10-15 degrees up from all the way open to let the water get in the rinse aid reservoir.

Just pour the water in slowing so you don't agitate the mixture and you should be able to get it running clear in 5-10 minutes. It could take a gallon or so of warm/hot water to accomplish this, but it will flush it.

When you'r done, just put the dishwasher into a rinse cycle to pump out the water and soap, etc. You may have to run a full cycle afterwards to get rid of any excess detergent in the tub.

Hope this helps and best regards!

Dishwasher started leaking suds and water out of the bottom

Please reply with the manufacturer and model number of the dishwasher.
I doubt that you have done any lasting damage to your dishwasher. Recommend that you empty the DW, start the dishwasher with no detergent added. Select a quick cycle if it is available, but more than a rinse. As soon as the water fills and the wash cycle begins, open the dishwasher and add at at least 1 cup of White Vinegar and close the door.
Keep an eye on the unit to make sure the suds don't overwhelm you again. If it does, go to a store that rents carpet cleaners and by just the de-foamer bottle. Add one table spoon or so. The suds should get knocked down.
After problem is resolved: Recommend you switch to a brand name Washing powder like Electrosol or Cascade. Avoid gel or the tablets for all dishwashers.
Good Luck!
