Depending on what monitor you have (most new lcd/plasma models dont have vertical hold) it may have a vertical hold adjustment knob. If you have not already tried adjusting it, turn it all the way clockwise, then all the way counter-clockwise, and then see if you can find a middle ground and slow or stop the jumping.

Another thing it could be is your video adapter, if the above step does not repair it, shut down the computer, unplug the video cable, then plug it in again and secure it tightly with the provided screws. If THAT still doesn't do it, shut down, remove the video card, then make sure the contacts are not damaged and are clean, re-insert the card and secure it properly to the chassis with its screw. Attach the video cable, and turn on the computer.

If none of the above fixes your issue, the last step I would suggest is reinstalling/updating the drivers for the video card, available at your card manufacturers website.

If that doesn't help you, the only way to continue troubleshooting would be to open the device up and service it, which I would strongly advise against if it is a CRT monitor (Glass screen, heavy) as certain components hold strong charges that can seriously harm you and possibly cause death, if you touch the wrong component.

Transmission shifting to soon 1998 olds intrigue

Sounds like you have a shift control problem, either in the transmission or the ECM controlling it. Check for trouble codes (DTCs) with a good code reader.

My screen is jumping and it looks like its constantly scrolling down if that makes sense iv checked all connections and tried a different scart lead any ideas?

It could be that your TV does not support the frequency of the signal (normally 50Hz or 60Hz depending on where you live). Try a different TV.

On my HP2709m desktop monitor I am getting a pinkish screen. More so when I scroll down then the text turns really pink. This is a new monitor that came bundled with my computer from Sam's Club.

Try a different "data" cable between your computer and your monitor.

Try a different monitor on your computer, to see if the problem is within your computer's video-card.

Try your monitor on a different desktop/laptop, to see if the problem "follows" the monitor.

If the monitor really is "new", it is "defective" -- take it back, and get it repaired/replaced.

When I engage the cruise control is holds speed but rmp surges periodically around 2-300 rpm.

It could be your transmission trying to find the right gear it will jump around on diffrent road surfaces and going up hills/down hills. It is usaully noticable on cruise because it is at a constant speed and your thinking why would it need to shift. Sometimes it doesnt even really shift the gear its so inbetween it just jumps back really fast.

My monitor has a horrible lag

Your monitor should have a reasonable to good refresh rate so I doubt it's at fault. It sounds as if you have another program running in the background which is slowing your computer down. Press the keys CTRL. ALT and DELETE at the same time and have a look to see what's running. Close down any programs you aren't using and see if that fixes things. Another problem could be a shortage of memory. I'd recommend no less than 512 Megabytes or ram with Windows XP. If you could give me more info as to which operating system you're using, how fast is the CPU and how much memory etc it would be easier to diagnose. One last thing, you could have a virus and it's chewing up memory. Do you have an up to date virus checker? If not install AVG. it's completely free and available on the net. While you're at it install a spyhunter program and malware checker. There's some weird rogue nasties crawling all over the net. You could've even installed a nasty along with a freebie program you got off the net. BMW
