my monitor is vibrating, like it is constantly jumping up and down, kinda like your trying to scroll up and down really really fast, and i dont know how to stop it, what do i do?
Depending on what monitor you have (most new lcd/plasma models dont have vertical hold) it may have a vertical hold adjustment knob. If you have not already tried adjusting it, turn it all the way clockwise, then all the way counter-clockwise, and then see if you can find a middle ground and slow or stop the jumping.
Another thing it could be is your video adapter, if the above step does not repair it, shut down the computer, unplug the video cable, then plug it in again and secure it tightly with the provided screws. If THAT still doesn't do it, shut down, remove the video card, then make sure the contacts are not damaged and are clean, re-insert the card and secure it properly to the chassis with its screw. Attach the video cable, and turn on the computer.
If none of the above fixes your issue, the last step I would suggest is reinstalling/updating the drivers for the video card, available at your card manufacturers website.
If that doesn't help you, the only way to continue troubleshooting would be to open the device up and service it, which I would strongly advise against if it is a CRT monitor (Glass screen, heavy) as certain components hold strong charges that can seriously harm you and possibly cause death, if you touch the wrong component.
Try changing the screen refresh rate in Desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Monitor for xp or Desktop -> Personolize -> Display Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Monitor for vista

Hi, I have an asus geforce fx6600,128MB graphics card, running on an asus a8ne-fm motherboard. I have just tried to use the tv-out function with an s-video connection to my tv.
I asked the card to detect my TV resulting in half the screen on the monitor disappearing. I tried rebooting, but I now get a black screen once I get passed the Windows XP boot screen. I then tried tried resetting the graphics card by removing and re-connecting it.....with no joy I'm afraid.
If you could tell me how to reset the card it would be most appreciated.

Bought x1600 pro agp video card thru Ebay. When I first installed it, all my monitor did was go to sleep when turned on. No video. Then I noticed my power supply was way underpowered for the card and bought a new 550w PS. Still get no video or bios on boot. It turns on as the fans are spinning and HDD lights are blinking, my board (chaintech SKT600) just doesn't see it. I've put back in the old Nvidia FX5200 and made sure I removed any old nvidia drivers, changed AGP aperture size, changed speed from 8x to 4x, still nothing. Did I get ripped off thru Ebay. The fan spins up on the video card but that doesn't mean jack. Any ideas are appreciated.
