Question about Blaupunkt GPS

Need to update the GPS Voice Navigation System that came with my Mitsubishi Verada [I have Version 9] I need to know exactly where to get the update for Australia, or from where to dowload it, and how to install it in the car.

I need to know where in Melbourne, AUSTRALIA I can go to get the latest WhereIS Navigation CD for my Blaupunkt CD Voice Navigation System. I have Version 9 and it is often of no use whatever but I believe the latest version is far more comprehensive.

I have Mitsubishi Verada 2003 and the Blaupunkt navigation system came with it - as did the version 9 WhereIS Navigation CD. I also wouldn't mind some advice on how to actually do the update in the car.

Please don't just refer me to a manual. I can find that sort of stuff myself. I suppse I am really trying to find someone who has successfully upadated the same think on their own car.

Thank you to the people who tried to help. I got in touch with The people who do the mapping ["Whereis" is a product of a company called Sensis] in Australia and they told me to contact the car dealeship and of that didn't help to conmtact the Head Office of Mitsubishi in Australia. Aftder contacting Mitsubishi I learded that even they cannot access the Blaupunkt navigationa upgrades and they suggested that I contact Bosche which is the company of which Blaupunkt is apparently a division. I did this and found my solution. It does not involve downloading manuals nor downloading an update. It involves sending Bosche/Blaupunkt AUS$400 and they will then send me out the latest Version of the Navigation CD, Version 14. [I have Version 9.]

This is exhorbitently expensive in my view, butu it always seems to be the case with European parts . . . c'est la vie I suppose.

So thank you for trying. It is such a hybrid product, provided by Bosche/Blaupiunkt for Mitsubishi with Sensis' Whereis navigation program, that I really didn't know where to begin.

GPS works sometimes. Other times it wont and has a slash thru the navigation icon. Bad GPS signal??? Software need updated???

You didn't say what brand of GPS system you had, but this explanation should work for you anyway.

My GPS system is a Garmin, and when I see the symptoms you describe, it most likely means that I need to update my maps. But It could also mean that I'm not receiving a good GPS signal due to tall buildings surrounding me, or being out in the country at the bottom of a steep hill. I'd suggest going to your GPS' manufacturer online and see if you can download another user manual for your model, then check inside it to see what those signals mean. When updated, your GPS system should be perfect again, but you'll need to update (by connecting your GPS system to your computer so you can download the updates into your GPS) sometimes once every couple of weeks if updates are made, or new maps are created because of detours and and road closures, etc.. Unfortunately companies sometimes let you know when there are new changes available to their customers.

Its an easy fix and takes very little time. Best Wishes!

My customer's navigation on her 2008 Prius will not work. It says her addresses do not exist.

Could be you only need a map update. Check the map version and check how long the address exists.
It also could be, the map you use, they did not bring in all roads.
In my Toyota from 2012 the navigation, missed streets that existed 3 years before the map was created. I have a 2012 map from June.

Why doent my gps speak s

The things you'd want to check first are:
1. the volume of your speaker is not turned off ...
2. your GPS (navigation) software supports voice navigation - directions /commands ...
3. you have (installed & selected) a navigation voice (e.g. standard or computer voice)
4. you have done a "reboot" ... or "hard reset" ... to start the software up again.
If all of these are OK ... and you previously had heard navigation voice on your GPS ... but suddenly, there's no more navigation voice, then it is possible that the navigation software (voice portion) got corrupted. If that's the case, you would want to try to restore your software from backup (using HOME), or download a copy of the navigation software from TomTom.com (for your device type/class) and install it.

I got files from internet to update 2009 map for my gps, but I don't know how to get them into the gps.

1. Download the SONYNAVU_U73T_3.2.CN.BIN file to a temporary or download directory.
2. Connect your nav-u personal navigation device to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
3. Power on your nav-u personal navigation device and wait until the "Connect to PC" message is displayed on the nav-u screen.
4. Start the nav-u Tool software on the computer.
5. At the "nav-u tool" window, click "Upgrade System".
6. On the right side of the Upgrade Screen, verify that the target version is 3.00.
7. On the left side of the Upgrade Screen, click the "Browse" button, and go to the directory where the SONYNAVU_U73T_3.2.CN.BIN file was downloaded and then click "OK".
8. In the "Name" box, click to select "3.02 cn NV-U73T" update, and then click the button.
9. After the update file is transferred to the nav-u device a "Transferring Upgrade file completed." message is displayed on the computer.
10. After the system software update is complete, the nav-u device will automatically shut down and restart.

No voice during navigation

Have you tried to reset everything to Factory state? Both GPS and System? If it doesn't help then restore Sanyo map software from supplied DVD. Something must be missing or corrupted.

My husband had the same problem with his i2 Street Pilot.
He went to the Garmin web site and downloaded the latest
updated software version. You can then chose the language options, too.
