Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

HP Deskjet 5740 I have not used my printer in some time and both cartridges are half full. It printed with the black but came out with gaps in the printing so i took the cartridge out and put it back in again hoping it would but then it would not print at all. I tried printing with the colour cartridge and it worked fine but as soon as i took out the colour cartridge and put it back it that one stopped working to. the printer itself is functioning correctly it is just not picking up the ink when printing. Please help.

It is better to change the black cartige becaue there is the jam of the ink in black cartidge. or pick out the black cartidge and clean with soft paper in the place from where color is pour. then reinstall the cartidge. i hope it will ok. otherwise, change the cartidge.

My HP deskjet 5740 will feed the paper through but prints nothing even thought the ink cartriges are full

How long ago was it since you last used it? Inkjet and deskjet printers don't like to sit more than a week or two without you printing anything or they dry up.
Your cartridges may have dried up on the bottom or the part that the cartridge sits in may have dried up. Take a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol and dab it a few times. Make sure it's totally try before putting your cartridge back in.

i think ur talking about the black ink cartridge...ideally it should not get stuck but plz check if there is any plastic piece which is blocking it or there is any latch. If it gets stuck frequently its time for u to get a new printer.

Printer cartridge

Well, Since the cartrigde has been working it could be just a matter of contact. Try removing the cartridge, and clean the contact surface on the cartridge with a alcoholic based cleaning liquid on a soft cloth. Tis might help solve the problem.
