Question about Alpine CDM-7861 CD Player

Open Question

CDM-7861.. wire harness

Where do i find the original harness that plugs into the back of the deck. i bought a car and went to fix the sound problem and came to see a mess made of the harness. it's wires aren't any longer than my pinky finger which is causing many problems. please lead me to where i can find a harness for it or if anyone has one who will sell it for cheap like 5$ and ill pay for shipping. if i can't find one ill just buy another cd player.. i mean this one isn't worth much anymore.thanks

Make Sure the remote wire is connected from the radio to the amp, its normally a blue wire. Here is a picture of what the setup should look like.

Check for a "jammed" button. They use a little rubber membrane behind buttons and over time they do wear out. It is possible to push a button on the corner, make it shift enough to jam behind the faceplate & hard to see. Just push the button and see if it pops back like the rest of the buttons on the unit. If it still has a problem, post a comment and I will help you some more. Hope this helps

If you go to an car audio install shop they have tons of leftover slide removal tools. Just ask them for a pair. The nice shops will just give them to you without charging.

Wiring in a new car deck

The easiest and most efficient way to hook up your old radio harness to a new head is to use a harness adapter that is made for your vehicle.
If you have not cut off the old plug that went into the old radio then it would be a simple matter of plugging the adapter harness into the old plug and color matching the wires from the adapter to the new head wires, which will be the same colors.
If you go on line to - Installer.com you probably will find the correct adapter for your vehicle. There are other on-line stores that deal with adapters, as well.
If the old plug was cut, it may be possible to splice the plug back to the original wires, then it's a matter of plugging the adapter plug into it.
Hope this helps...
