I have a Hitachi AX M140 combo the Dab Radio does not power on any more it appears dead, the DVD refuses to work it the radio is plugged in but works if I unplug it The amp and MP3 seems to be working fine although not when the radio is plugged in with the rest. I do not seem to be the only one with this problem. i have unplugged and replugged the machine from mains a few times, it used to solve all problems before. i have also switched the various elements in the rack no luck. Any suggestions? Best Y

Please check the power supply fuse on the inside, and also check the main ribbon cable for cracked/frayed wires.

if the voltage reading of D4102 from point +A and +B is the same have it replaced

  • Rommel Cana

look but do not buy yet, just make sure the voltage reading from negative with the negative sign and + to the positive sign are exactly the same, you might be reading a voltage of say 12v dc, only if that value is the same with the both + , you can order it have it replaced. you can set your multimeter at a range of 50v dc.if at point B say your reading is 20v and on point A is 5v no need to replace that component cause it might be working, after that point thats the deciding factor, where your trouble really lies, if its the same exceeding 9v on point A will damaged the embeded ic chip on the lower right portion of your last picture

Hi,

Most manufacturers offer a battery powered option at this price point too, but don’t plan to take your radio on a major expedition. DAB radios are notoriously power hungry so will need a large stack of batteries – 6 x ‘C’ cells is not uncommon. These add significantly to the carrying weight for a picnic and battery life is not great – only a few hours at most.

Would suggest to review the battery again.

Thanks

Can not tune in Dab radio on AX-M131U

If it's anything lioke my DAB radio there is a Tune button that you hold down for more than 5secs and it goes into 'Autotune' mode - so that after some time ,say 1min, all the available stations are tuned1
Hope this works for you .

How to reboot hitachi dab radio

Sounds like what happened to my Sharp DAB receiver recently . - Swtch OFF completely from all power sources and proceed with the recommended RESET function.
Move set and/or aerial to be sure of a good strong signal before attempting a complete re-start and full AutoTune as per the instruction manual.
This operation certainly cured my problem although I never have found out what caused the failure in the first place!!!
