Question about Sony KP-46WT500 46" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
My 42' Sony went completely red after being on about 30 mins. I went in the back and feddled until I wasted liquid from the blue light. Turned it back on and it showed a beautiful picture for about 4 hours. Then went green. Where can I find a blue light to replace the one in the back of the TV. I'm sure that is the problem and my TV will work again for another 4 yrs.
The CRTs are usually what they call a matched set, meaning if you replace one you should replace them all this is going to cost you about at least $400.00. The liquid you felt was coolent for the blue tube, by the way I hope you cleaned your hands after touching that stuff it is a kin to glycoalochol which is poison. I would suggest www.electronix.com as a place to begin to look for the part or parts (I suggest replacing all three CRTs to manitain the matched abilities of the tubes).
I hope this helps
