Medion Akoya EX Laptop computer

Hello,

I have a Medion Akoya EX Laptop comptuer that I love. I have used this computer for quite some time now, but have been living with a recent problem.

The computer will not boot up or run on battery power alone.

There is a orange flashing light that indicates a problem with the battery. Before this light started flashing, I would get approx 2.5 hrs battery time with the computer.

I know that the battery is fine and that the computer is charging it. Due to my fully discharging the battery with a 12 volt light (took 3 days to die), and then putting it to charge. The funny thing is, when it started to charge it, the computer went through the light color schemes red, green, then started flashing orange again.

I have full use of the computer with or without the battery installed. I would love to get moblie again with my laptop, and would greatly appreciate any input you may bequeath.

Thank you and God bless.

Dan

My Medion Akoya Ex does not show any light nor does it turn on when the charger and battery is plugged in. It shows no sign of life when and the input for the charger is a little loose.

It sounds to me like some of the cells in the battery has collapsed.

A 12 volt light doesn't use as much juice on the battery as when you boot up. When Mobo, Monitor, Harddrive etc etc. start up they all use a large start-up-current and if the battery cant sustain the amount of amp. they all need together, nothing happens.

This is called shadow-charge, the battery seems fine, but when it really needs to put out some power it collapses.

I think you should try to sniff up another battery and see if this one has the same problem.

Or perhaps investigate wether or not you still have some warranty left on the battery, to try to get a free replacement.

My medion akoya laptop won't load past intel screen

This is a hard drive issue or windows have corrupt files, if you have the installation disc try and reload the operational system, if no change! have the hardware checked out at a computer repair store.

Medion Akoya EX Ram

Your best solution would be to go to http://www.crucial.com/ and run their computer scanner http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/index.aspx which will identify your computer and tell you exactly what capacity you can have, what you have currently, and what type of memory (speed, capacity per dimm, etc). This should answer your question. You can then purchase more memory for your laptop if it can take more than you already have in it.
