Question about Panasonic Palmcorder PV-DV53 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Pv-dv53d My problem started after I was recording in zero degree temps and the record on/off button stopped working. So I stopped the video by powering it down. Then when everything warmed up a couple days later, the unit would shut down after a few seconds of being on. The power button was blinking after that. After trying a new tape and battery I put it aside for a couple months. One day it decided to work, but once in a while I have to tap it. Sometimes when I turn my palmcorder on to record, the screen and picture thru the view finder is black. If I gently tap the side of it, the picture comes thru. I also have to tap the side if the picture that I want to record is not a clear sharp image. In this case the image may look like it is blinking in and out of contrast. It has to be in the mechanics but what do I look for?

Pv-l453d no picture from lens to lcd blank screen ?

Your device has the option buttons on which to select recording by observing the process from the user observation scopes. One option only could be observed at the recording session. On the other hand, disabling the option of observing a recording session on the scope lense automatically displays the recording session on the visible lense LCD screen area.

Manipulating the Camcorder is from the option buttons located along the sides of the camera. A switch on the menu area should make that experiece achievable.

What does Check record tab mean?

the term "tab" are used for sometime for "switch" and "button". So from general information, I think the camcorder has some kind of switch malfunction. Usually record button (toggles on and off) may be the problem if all other functions in PLAY mode is working. Also you may have "protective record tap" on tape may be changed. Hope this helps. -james

How to Record From a TV Using PV-GS13?

connect a lead via your tv video out audio out jacks. Select tha appropriate channel (You may have to go through the av channel on you tv and tune in the channel you want to record) or, video or dvd player audio out video out jacks. connect other end to your camcorder. Select on the camcorder menu video in audio in. Turn on tv. If connected to video or dvd player, press play. Press record on your camera. When finished recording press stop. Presuming the camcorder is tape, you can buy a tape adaptor to play or record your mini tapes in a standard video recorder, then take them out of the adaptor and play them back on your camcorder. You can also do all this via a computer. Also if the camcorder is disk or hard drive it can be used the same way as a regular dvd recorder to record tv programmes once connected to you t.v. Let me know how you go 26 red
