It's probably the solenoid which changes the action in the ice dispenser. It's bad or there is a bad switch, etc.

If you don't have appliance repair experience, probably ought to call service.

More hellp?, let me know.

Ice maker crushes ice but wont dispense Crushed ice

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the ice maker in your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS23H7CS, is crushing your ice, but will not dispense the crushed ice. It sounds like the dispenser is possibly jammed. Follow the following steps for a possible resolution:

1)The ice has melted and frozen around the auger due to infrequent use, temperature fluctuations, and/or power outages. Remove the ice container, thaw, and empty the contents. Clean the container, wipe dry, and replace it in the proper position. When new ice is made, dispenser should operate.

2)Ice cubes are jammed between the ice maker and the back of ice container. Remove the ice cubes that are jamming the dispenser.

3)Ice cubes could be frozen together. Use the dispenser often so that cubes do not freeze together.

4)The ice cubes are hollow or smaller than normal. The ice & water filter cartridge could be clogged. Replace the filter cartridge. Dispensing system operates best at 20 - 100 psi water pressure. Well water pressures should fall within this range.

If the above does not work, I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Turn the power back on and try dispensing crushed ice. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully.

Ice crusher stuck on crush

your ice solenoid is frozen. It is located behind the ice bucket next to the auger motor. It will need to be removed, unfrozen, and squirt a little wd40 to prevent it from happening again

Maytag MSD2651KES delivers crushed ice but no cubed

There is an metal arm that extends out behind the ice bucket that moves up and down when you press the cubed/crushed ice buttons. You need to take the ice bucket out and check the hardware. It's possible that some ice has managed to form in the unit and are blocking the motion. Remove any ice and check if the arm moves freely when you press the buttons on the refrigerator. Similarly, you should check if there is ice blocking the forward and back motion of the plunger in the freezer that bar sits on. This plunger is right next to the auger motor.

Everything's fine with the ice maker, except that the little door releasing the ice into the glass will not open. I've had it apart, moved rubber parts out of the way, and it still will not release the ice...

there's a solenoid and a plunger that opens the door shute, part number WR62X10055.unplug the machine, pop off the frame that goes around the dispenser, once you pop that off the rest is self explanatory.you'll see the solenoid and the plunger piece most likely will be rusted up or sometimes stuck in the solenoid.the hardest part is removing the frame without cracking it.good luck

Ice maker not working. Have replaced the Ice Maker and still not working. Is there a fuse for the ice maker controller or reset button? I have the Whirlpool Conquest Gold Series between 8 and 10 years...

Roger... this is going to sound way to simple. The ice maker power is cut off by the door switch. Check the door switch. 1/2 of the switch powers the light and the other half powers the ice maker when the light is off. That stupid little door switch has tripped me up several times and I work on them!!! There is one locking tab on ONE side of the (usually white door switch to pop it out of the chassis. It will have 3 terminals on it. One is a common wire, one powers the light (door open / plunger extended) and the other one powers the ice maker (door closed / plunger depressed)

Don't buy a controller yet!!!!

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Our automatic ice dispenser hums but doesn't move ice through to be dispensed

Resolving the frost in shoot problem .
Remove the top freezer door hinge cover , and disconnect the plug there . This removes any power , going to the door . If no plug there , remove the bottom kick plate , by removing the screw on each side in the front , and disconnect the receptical from the wires comming from the bottom of the freezer door .
Remove the dispensor control board , by prying , or pulling , from the bottom of the board . Disconnect the 3 plugs to the board . You should now see the white dispensor cover , being held on by 4 screws . Remove these screws , and slide the cover out .
In the top right , inside the dispensor area , you will see a solenoid with a plunger , with the door flap arc , inserted into the plunger . Usually rust inhibits the movement of the plunger , keeping the door flap from closing completely .
Remove the 3 screws holding the plunger and solenoid ( part number WR62X10055 ) and replace . Cleaning will not help , due to rust will return .
