Question about NetGear WNDR3300 - RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router

1 Answer

No lights on except power light.

Hello i have recently bought a recetified netgear WNDR3300. As i plugged it in, it was working fine although it was dropping signal reception so i upgraded the firmware to DD-WRT.At first for a few minutes it worked fined, but afterwards the wired connection did not work and after a few minutes the wireless connection also dropped/stopped. Then i started to reset the router to the factory default setting and so tried the 30/30/30 way. but after the first try the WAN led light turned off after the second try the wireless signals(both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) stopped blinking. now only the power light is solid.any help would be appreciated. thank you.

The firmware has been messed up. DDWRT might be incompatible with your router. I would highly recommend to reload the factory firmware or the latest firmware from Netgear's website. Loading 3rd party firmware will void the warranty of your device.

Netgear wndr3300 blinking orange light

It depends. Have you checked the Netgear support site for FAQ and the manual. In some routers, orange lights indicate wired 100Mbps connections while green indicates 1000Mbps. In other cases, blinking lights indicated that the router is 'bricked'.

First off reset the router using the Small Pin hole on the back. Do this while the device is powered on and you will get an orange light and you will know this has been done Ok.

Next plug the router into your computer using Ethernet cable.

Open internet explorer and type in the address bar http://192.168.0.1
Username: admin
Password: password

You will see an option for Setup wizard on the left.

Follow the on screen instuctions.

Need to locate the correct driver for WNDR3300 Resource CD

Routers do not need drivers. They work by themselves. The computer does not control them.
If you have the router plugged in and all its lights are on then it is working. All you have to do is to get the computer to talk to it - and that doesn't require any CDs at all.

Disconnect router power plug-in for 10 seconds and plug back in. It should work fine after about 3 minutes. They tend to build up a static charge once in a while.

AngeloVal:
If you have internet connection and a solid security over the router I would't worry about it. In any case it does not hurt to read the manual and description to understand your product in detail: A perfect description is here:

Hope that helped!
