Changed from vista to x psp3 then i had a black screen problem so I reloaded windows xp professional and now i have no sound my laptop is toshiba sattelite P105-S9337.

you will need to download the device drivers as it seems xp does not have them available apon installation first find out what kind of sound card you have or if its on-board than search either the soundcard name or motherboard name followed by sound driver and it should be no problem to download and install

There is no audio or whatever sound that is produced by our computer from the time it was reformatted, what should we do?

all hardware require specific drivers to work
drivers are information that tell the operating system how the hardware works

so when you formatted your computer you must have not installed the device drivers for your sound card

if you have the soundcard on the motherboard (on-board soundcard) the the drivers will be provided in the motherboard CD
if you have a separate sound card then drivers will be included in the product package

No sound after installing windows xp

The drivers for your computer can be found here:

Scroll down to Audio, and download the Via audio driver and then it. It should install all necessary files to communicate with your soundcard.

If you've installed XP from a Windows disc not dedicated to your PC, (not a recovery disc), then it probably is lacking certain drivers specific to your computer. It's a very old computer, drivers are likely missing from your install.

In your Start menu search type "Device Manager". Open DM and click the + next to "Sound, video and game controllers". You might see a 743baf5.gif next to your soundcard. Double click your soundcard and note "Device status" under "General" tab. Got to "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver..." If it says you have the best driver installed, uninstall the driver from there, and try "Update Driver..." again.

I can't hear a sound

go to the computer manufacturer's website and see if it allows you to look up your computer by serial number. if so, then it should tell you what kind of soundcard you have and prolly also have the correct drivers available to install. once you have installed the correct drivers, the soundcard will no longer be unrecognized and should work.
