The blue screen during reformatting is not an issue with the motherboard. The issue is with the hard drive. Find or purchase a new hard drive and try to reinstall Windows on the new drive.

Dear sir, When I install xp in my compaq 610 d40 model I have recived an error following : 'file\i386\l_intl.nls' not loaded the error code is 1024

Being honest I WOULD start frim scratch.
I would first go into bios and set the cd/dvd drive to first boot position and hdd to second.
Then hit f10 to save data nad exit.
I woild the put the OS disk in and hit a button during the boot up process in order to get the laptop into the setup screen.
As I was going through the setup process I would ensure that I DELETED ALL PARTITIONS ON THE HARD DISK....so that the setup process showed that the only space on the drive was unallocated space.
Then, as guided by the on screen prompts, I would create the largest partition XP permitted me to create, it would then show me that I had a large partition and it would create a small partition for system data.
It then starts the installation procedure, on the large partition , you will have selected this ...and off it goes to complete with no errors.
Just leave it alone to complete.

Hello Sir,

You can create a Partition in your hard drive without affecting your OS. Just follow the process I've sent.

1.) Go to Start Menu and Type in search area Create and Format Hard Disk Partition.

2.)Open the Create and Format Hard Disk Partition.

3.)Now you can Select the C: and can Partition it with another new drive.

Thank You

put the windows xp cd into ur dvd writer ... restart the machine... then after showing the dell logo... it will say "press any key to boot from cd.."
press any key.. wait until a blue screen appears...
there will be three options
choose "press esc for a clean install"

delete the partition of your choice....
create a new partition on the unallocated space...

machine will restart ...
wait upto the blue screen...now choose

Won't fully boot. Get windows screen, then it stalls gray

reformated twice? have you already ran diagnostics on the hdd? check first the hdd thru diagnostics it might the hdd causing the problem. if no errors found in hdd make sure it was reformated as clean install. your hdd might have partition and just reinstalled OS on he same partition without deleting partitions. Try deleting partitions then create new partitions then reinstall OS.

Install xp creating new partition

Real easy. Start computer and press F1 or what ever you do to get into the BIOS. When the BIOS screen appears find boot options. Enter it and select cd or DVD sequence to boot first. Before you leave the BIOS make sure you save the BIOS. When the computer starts up and this time it will passes the BIOS setup, a prompt on the screen will display a message press any key to boot from cd or DVD. Of course when that message appears you want to hit at least one key on the keyboard. Next, it should say loading windows and a blue screen will appear.
When things stop it will prompt you to press enter to install xp and then F8 to promise your doing things right.
Now comes where it says do you want a new partition and next, shows the memory available. Here's where you to delete if there's a partition already there or create one. I think you press c to create and press enter. Next it will ask if you want to install a fresh copy xp. enter yes.
From here on out, you shouldn't have to do anything for at least 45min. It will turn it self off and on and eventually start having you answer question to set-up xp account.

Deleted Vista Recovery Partition. Now XP installer can't read HDD

if you have created recovery disk before the deleting of the recovery partition u can format the drive from your bios and create a new recovery partition using the recovery disk if not if your pc has crashed and your recovery partition is gone u will have to get a new operating system software but if your pc is still stable just run the recovery manager and restore to factory settings and it will put recover partition back on your hard disk

Problem installing OS

I think Partition Magic 8 screwed up the hard drive. I suggest, try a different hd, or if you don't have one, go to www.ebay.com and get like a 5 or 10GB hd and try that, cause if it works with a different hd, it proves that Partition Magic 8 screwed up the drive. Anything else, try a new IDE or SATA cable cause sometimes they go bad. try a different OS cd. Anything else I could say is bring it to a local computer store and see what they can do.

Missing Operating System error

your bought compag computer is a new one , because that error is appears only if the hard drive or the harddisk is defective or damage. Your installation of windows xp is finished totally because sometimes the error is appears because the system installation is not finished and the os system cannot read. try to re install again the windows and delete the old partitions and create again if the problem is the same even there is no error in the installation until it's finished i say that the problem is in the harddisk. Maybe the harddisk develop a bad sector in the master boot record of the hardrive
