How can i easily &temporarly disconnect a computer on my network

I have a wireless router and want to cut access to a computer on my network from time to time. i tried the "track as intruder" method... but that does not deny any access. Any suggestions anybody???

I have done MAC filtering OK but did something stupid. While trying to fliter out one puter from the network I left the other 2 puters in the MAC filter. Now even my own PC that is directly connected to the router is not allowed to connect with my service provider via the router. It leaves me to be connected while bypassing the router. No w-fi available.

I have tried to use a dial up from a laptop to change the filtering but the dial up is not a stable connection for whatever reason.

I would appreciate if someone would know how to get out of this bind. I.e. to change the MAC filtering to what it was. That is all 3 puters are allowed to be part of the network.

The router I am using is D-Link, WBR2310.

Gents, both solutions did not help.

MAC addresses of all 3 computers in my home are blocked by the router so I cannot access internet. Accessing the link http:// 192..... does not work even if I try it when the router is being bypassed (going via modem only).

It is assumed here that the link takes me to the router website, which in turn communicates with my router. Is this a correct assumption?

Access your router settings and filter by MAC address is the only way to block someone by their MAC address. Surely you have instructions or call Belkin, or reverse the process to unblock a MAC address, its in the same area of the router software.

Linksys WRT110 error 222. Can not find network, network hidden or not in range

Check the lights on the router if it's on, access the admin page of your router and make sure that the SSID or wireless name is being broadcast, try changing the name if you are using the default one to easily distinguish it... If other wireless computer can detect your existing wireless network then I would suggest you to check on the computer if the wireless adapter is enabled and detect wireless networks available

How can i easily &temporarly disconnect a computer on my network

If you want to get completely rid of that computer I would suggest to use the mac filtering feature.

you can add the computer to the blacklisted mac address. and it will not be able to connect untill removed from the list again.

This is covered in the user manual for your router
Let me know if you need anytdhing else.

Thanks,
Ekse

Unable to secure wireless network.

log onto the wifi router. set your ssid to whatever you want it to be and security to whatever p/w you want it to be. this will usually require a reboot. this will need to be done on the primary pc

if you only have one. connect it all physically as it should be. then do the above. disconnect the compuer from the ethernet cable and it should be a wa-la. hope this helps :)
