Question about Garden
I have a John Deere 318 Garden Tractor. When running, the engine throttles up and down continually....at any throttle setting. It dies when the throttle is returned on or near the slowest speed. It doesnt do it until it has warmed up some. I have replaced the fuel filter and tried some Sea Foam in it as advised by local dealer...no luck. Any ideas? Carburetor overhaul needed? Thanks....Curt Campbell
This is the classic symptom of improper air/fuel ratio.
There should be an adjusting screw on the side of the carburetor -- it has a spring at the base -- turn this with a screwdriver slowly back and forth to see which direction makes it run better -- take it from there...
