Question about D-Link AirPlus DI-614+ Wireless Router

5 Answers

I can't reset my router.

I am trying to setup my router. I have tried to reset it. But I am still unable to get into the setup screen. I can get as far as the window that asks for the user ID and the password. The manual says to type in "admin" for the user ID and not to type in a password. I have tried this coutless times. I have tried to reset the router as well. I get the same response, " User name / password is not valid" I have tried to do this with a wired connection and with wireless connection. I get the same response. Any suggestions? Thank You, Jamie

I've found that I need to disconnect the power, let it set for 30-60 seconds, reconnect the power, then immediately push and hold the reset button (10-30 sec?)

To reset the router, the best way is to press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, or to press the reset button for 60 seconds..and for first 20 sec hold the reset with the power cable connected and for the next 20 sec with out releasing the reset button disconnect the power cable and continue holding the restet button , and after 20 sec reconnect power back and then continue holding the reset for another 20 sec..

and this would fix your problem..

When I try to access my cisco e1000 router on firefox or google it keeps saying that it is busy and will not connect

Are you trying to access the setup page of the router?
Did you install the Cisco connect software on your main computer?
If you have cisco connect software installed then open Cisco connect.
Go to Router settings. Click on Advanced settings. It will open the setup page of your router.

If the cisco connect is not installed then try to power cycle the router. Unplug the power to the router, wait for 30 seconds. Plug in the power cable. Wait for 30 seconds.
Now try to access the setup page.

If that is also not working then I will suggest you to reset the router and reconfigure it manually.

I canot connect to the internet but my laptop detect my router

Make sure your modem is plugged in, first and foremost.

Make sure your modem is connected to your Router with the Ethernet cable.

If you're unable to connect still, do a reset on both the modem and the router at the same time. Unplug both, wait for 30 seconds and plug them back in again.

If you are still unable to get an internet connection, right click your wireless connection in the toolbar on the bottom left (Assuming you're using a PC). Click "diagnose" and it will run through your connection, to identify the problem.

Follow the instructions on screen.

If you are still unable to get a connection after trying these, contact your ISP and have them reset the modem and walk you through wireless setup for their particular system.

Thanks!

Hope this helped!

Setup

Make sure that the Router is ready and that it is detecting that the computer is connected. To verify this the Ready light on the router should be on solid and the light for the port that the computer is plugged into should also be on. If this is correct then all you should have to do is open up your Internet browser and type 192.168.2.1 into the address line and push Enter. If it does not come up with the log in screen then it is not connecting properly with the router. Try a different port on the router or a different CAT5 cable going from the computer to the router and try again. If that still fails, try emptying the Temporary Internet files cache folder and try again. If it still fails hold down the reset button on the back of the router for about 5 seconds or until the lights go out and start blinking. Wait for it to stop blinking and go back to the ready state. Try again to connect. Check the TCP/IP settings for the network card on the computer you are using. It should be setup to "Obtain an IP address automatically", if it isn?t change it and restart the computer. Once it is restarted, try again. If that still does not work type 192.168.2.1:88 into the browser address window.
