Error 6A00 Pixma i830

I am getting an error code that indicates 6A00. When I search the Internet I find advice that relates to the Purge Unit. For the love of god, where is the little bugger located? How do I access it? Thanks

I don't have experience on this exact model, however the 3 other models I have taken apart have little slots where you can stick a small screwdriver in to release the tabs holding the cover in place. Then you have to dig deeper into to unit to get to the purge tray, which is a sponge that soaks up the excessive ink when the unit is started up or during a head cleaning. Its messy.

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Canon mx850 Error code 6A00

Hello thank you for using FixYa.

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.As a Canon technology,I usually find the code almost 90% of the time it is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move.Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods etc.
I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.A
Canon Pixma MX850 Printer would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model & its always a paper path error or purge unit
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly, where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you will find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow

Erro 6A00

Hi,
The 6A00 is a Canon code for paper path jam. In the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 .
The purge unit is stuck and not able to move freely .Move the purge unit back and forth for around 10 times and then restart printer ,it should work fine .
If you still get the error code then purge unit needs replacement.

Hope this helps .

Pixma MP500 has a ERROR code 6A00 and the printer

Hi there

This answers with a titch more detail.
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.
As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move.
Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit.
The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.
Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model.

And it’s always a paper path error or purge unit.

The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Also clean the purge unit out make sure all is clean.

Printer wil not print there is a err 6a00

Your A600 is a paper path error, usually related to the purge unit. Try checking the purge unit for paper stuck in it.
To say in detail ERR 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.            The purge unit is a plastic assembly (on the right side of the printer where the print head homes) that is spring loaded on rides on a rail. move it back and forth about 5 times, close everything up, and restart. Note the the purge unit is NOT the print head! to be more specific: Take out all the ink cartridge, push the cartridge holder back and forth and clean the inside without taking it apart.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit. here goes, the purge unit.

Plz rate this solution.. thank you..
