Question about Refrigerators

Water dispenser worked perfectly for 9 months. Today, no water comes out at all.

Good Morning - We purchased a Jenn Air fridge, model JFC2089HES, last July. Up until late last night the water dispenser was working perfectly. This morning, when I clicked on the button, no water comes out at all. Again, we've never had an issue with it at all in the last 9 months: great pressure, nice and cold, etc. Today-nothing. Can you please offer some guidance. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Michael

Hi Joe - Thanks for the quick reply! We pulled out the owner's manual first thing this morning to see what we could find. It suggests replacing the filter once every 12 months, but since we purchased our fridge 9 months ago, we didn't think the filter was the issue. Will a filter that is wearing out cause the water to stop working immediately as ours did? I guess my assumption would be that you might start seeing lower and lower pressure over time. You obviously have far more experience than me in this. Your thoughts? Thanks again for the help. This site is fantastic.

Ours did the same thing. The inside water line and reservoir can freeze up especially in the summer when the unit tends to run more. More cold air can but not always possibly lead to the line freezing. We tuned the temp on the freeze to +2 and the reefer to 42. After less than a day the unit was producing water again. Initially a tech came out and insulated the incoming water line becasue it froze. Hope this helps.

Has the touch panel area become wet or chance water has got behind the keyboard? Your refrigerator is the first refrigerator that I have been unable to find a user manual for. Only find parts list. If you are trying to do this without instructions you never will get the right sequence correct. I believe I would be calling Whirlpool the makers of Jenn Air

Water to ice maker ok. but no water will come out dispenser

It sounds like the dual water inlet valve has failed for the water dispenser side. New one will cost $50-$60 online. If you feel comfortable check the voltage back to solenoid by depressing water dispenser switch to rule out the switch.

Jenn air french door water dispenser broken

You have two sides to your 67006531 Dual Water Inlet Valve, so it is very possible the side that controls the water flow for the dispenser is defective. Replace the 67006531 Dual Water Control Valve and I believe your fridge water will work fine.

I have a Jenn-Air refrigerator, Model JCD2389DE, and in the last two weeks we have noticed water puddling on the floor in front of the "freezer side" door. We thought maybe the water dispenser...

Mine did this a few years ago. I had to call service out to replace the system board. I guess it's a common problem. Something on the board fails and the defrost operation does not work properly, resulting in rapid meltdown of ice build-up and puddles on the floor.

No wate coming out the dispeser

The plastic water resivoir in the fridge compartment is frozen. Need to locate the resivoir which is at the bottom of the fridge and by using a hairdrier, warm the plastic resivoir for about 6 minuites. Suggest you turn the fridge off while doing this. retry and dispence water.

I bought a used Jenn Air french door refrigerator model #JFC2089HES, but water will not dispense nor will it make ice. It's hooked up to a cold water supply under the sink which is working.

It sounds to me like you're going to have to do some serious electrical checking. There are two electrical solenoid water control valves right behind of the fiber cover where your water line connects to the refrigerator. One solenoid valve is for the water dispenser and the other is for the ice maker. They are mounted together, side by side, on the same metal mounting plate. You two sets of terminals on each solenoid. one set on each solenoid should be hot (register line voltage) when tested between the terminal and ground. the other set of terminals connect two the switches in the water dispenser and ice maker. If have someone push the dispenser switch while you have your ear close to the solenoids, you should hear a clicking sound. I have never seen both of the solenoid valves go bad at the same time. I believe you have a power supply problem to the solenoid assembly itself.

Freezer and fridge tempeture increasing.

The black " tank " is the compressor . Will the fan by the compressor run ? If not , that is the problem ( fan motor ) . Are the coils clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc ? The brand and model number would have helped . Since the compressor is hot , means it should be good . The fan motor must be working , to help keep the compressor cool . Also , the back cardboard or metal panel must be in place when finished , or the fan will draw outside air instead of front air over the coils and compressor .

Jenn Air fridge water dispensor stopped working

Hi: You press the switch and it makes a faint humming noise. That tells me the switch on the front panel is ok. The switch for the ice and water is actually on the bottom of the ref. The internal system of the ref is not under city water pressure. Ice is made so that's ok. There is a solenoid where the water attaches to the fridge down below which can fail. Just for giggles try tapping the switch with the plastic handle of a screwdriver. To loosen any scale that might have built up. As I'm unemployed also I'm giving you that trick. Otherwise I would just say replace it. I hope this helps, Jeff
