I can't sync my dreamgear shadow w ps3 - DreamGear Playstation 3 Wireless Controller With Rumble

Even though this thread is a year old and never answered.

I am having the same problem. The receiver light indicates it is synced with the controller. But the controller light does not indicate being synced... What gives here?

you need to use an audio that comes out of the back of the Xbox.

How do get the start and select button to work when I plug the USB in and turn both the controller and ps3 on I load in a game and can't pause my game or change views

Connect a micro-USB cable between the controller and the PS3 and press the PS button on the controller. This should sync the 2 devices.

Connect both to the PS3 using the usb(charging cable for a few minutes)

From the Manual:
1. With your Playstation 3 game Console on and the ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the controller set to on. Plug in the USB receiver into a USB port in the Playstation 3. The LED will flash slowly.
2. Press the "connect" button on the receiver. The LED will flash rapidly.
3. Press the "menu" button on the controller. The four channel lights will flash rapidly until the sync process is done. When the sync process is done one of the channel lights will remain solidly lit.

i don't know where you bought it but you should have gotten a usb receiver with your controller. you need that to be plugged into your ps3 and synch with your controller. here is the step by step from the beginning
