Monitor doesn't have any power

I have 3 Dell monitors (model 2407WFP) that don't have any power. I have replaced all of the caps in the power board and main board, checked the fuse and other parts. I still can't get any power. I'm not sure what else the problem might be. Any other suggestions before I start buying replacement boards, or I trash them would be greatly appreciated.

Be sure you check the MOV protective components and High Voltage circuit as well. Component level repair on monitors is very tricky.
So many of the circuits are dependent on each other. You could chase your tail for a long time trying to figure out.

SOURCE: monitor fuse keeps blowing

There is definately a shorted component that causes the fuse to blow. Nomaly the ceremic capacitors are the cause of the problem. Check to see if there is visiual dark or burnt ceremic caps with label sameting like this "SCK 083" near the fuse area and change it. Hope it helps, cheers.

Can someone identify the part number of IC 651 and Q654 in my 2407WFPb Dell Monitor?

Why are people giving their opinions rather then answering the question? My monitor just died and I need to replace the main power filter cap and transistor Q654, I need the part number for transistor Q654 as I think the OP does as well.

I have a 2407WFP monitor. The power turns on but there is no display even when I push the menu button.

You need to take it apart and check the caps in the power supply and fuses on the backlights inverter board, see my pictures here:

Check the caps, fuses, DC voltage feeding the Inverter board (around 24vdc). It is similar to 2408 as shown here:

Black screen

• 1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY
• 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
• 3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS.

That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.

Replace your battery.
Restart!

I think its the power supply

The problem can be in 3 places: bad caps in the power supply, shorts circuit in the back light inverter, or bad lamps. You need to open it up and inspect the board for bad caps or burnt parts, take some voltage measurement, you should have 12vdc for the inverter circuits. See example of monitors with bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

I can Fix It if I Can Find The inverter.

Cajun is an idiot. a BACKLIGHT is a pencil sized tube that provides light for the LCD. An inverter will take a small voltage and turn it into a large voltage, with a proportional decrese in current. Not nearly the same thing.

Go to LCDrepairs.com and buy the parts you need.
