Question about Philips GoGear HDD6330 MP3 Player

1 Answer

GoGear 30GB While trying to load a large number of songs and initiating "Synch", It froze and no songs were loaded to the MP3. I have used "Repair" on the Device Manager, but it has failed to repair three times. I can't load any music on the MP3.

Reset first, and then Repair again using the instructions here - the trick is when to connect and reconnect the device:

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).

I have a GoGear MP3 Player. I've loaded a 70 MB wave file onto it, which is a newly recorded song. When it plays on the GoGear, it has what sounds like skips in it, or static "sparks." They...

This most likely has to do with your GoGear not being fast enough to play the song. The GoGear is probably set up to buffer a certain amount of music (roughly the length of a normal song) but since you are loading a wave file, it is having to buffer multiple times in the middle of your song. Try converting your wave file to something like an mp3 or aac file (if you have itunes you can right click on it in and say convert to mp3) and this should eliminate your problem. Don't forget, your computer is much more capable than your MP3 so it isn't surprising that such a large file is giving it trouble.

My Philips GoGear MP3 Player is stuck

Been using this for a few months. Froze up on same song while on vacation last month, and continued to play same song on repeat until battery went down. Now is frozen with "Do Not Disconnect" as it was being charged on my laptop. Attempted to unplug and plug back in and Windows gives DO NOT DISCONNECT!!!!!

I am having the exact same problem!!!!!

If it doesn't work when unplugged and fully charged, that problem is not going to go away. You can do the Repair in Philips Device Manager, but it will erase all of your songs and it probably will not work. The problem is, Philips is all out of these players, and they no longer make any 30GB models - 8GB is the max.

When you first update the GoGear, or after loading a large number of songs, it is quite normal for it to take a while to update.

Load the Philips software onto your computer. You have to load the songs onto the player using WMP (Windows Media Player) 8 or 9. Connect the player using the USB cable. Run the Philips Go Gear Digital Audio Player software. Upgrade the firmware. This will format the player and erase everything you have done so far. Start WMP. Click on the Synch tab.It will have 2 window panes. In the right side, at the top, there is a drop list. Select the player from the list. Now create a synch list by clicking on edit playlist. Once you have added the songs, click Start Synch. That's all there is to it. Ian

Player Problem, Connect to PC, Start Device Manager

You need to load the drivers and "gogear" has to appear in your synch list in WMP. Look into previous replies I have posted to find the software link. Copy all the music onto your hard drive so you can put it all back on using the synch feature.
