Question about Viking DESO100 Stainless Steel Electric Single Oven

Open Question

New Viking gas oven keeps shutting off

A new Viking Rage we put it on set the Bake to 450F but it keeps clicking making sounds one hears the gas go on and then it shuts off like the warmess goes away.
Help I have the same thing happening--but I've got the Viking DESO electric oven. My thoughts were that the clicking is the temperature sensor shutting off/on... I have been able to trick the oven into working using the time baking switch (rather than manual) but even that work around is inconsistent.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Oven temperature

you guys should check your tempurature sensor. Our oven has been acting weird like saying it has heated up to 400 degrees in like 1 minute haha. Well after a few months of this happening on occasion we get an F2 error flashing..

did some research on it and apparently for GE ovens this is a temp sensor gone bad. Im looking to buy one now which is how i found this post, i just thought id tell you all what i found out and maybe you should look into that as well.

benypeny what that flash was from what I have seen over the years is your heating element on the back wall burning out. Remove the cover and you will see the element is no longer in 1 piece.

How can i tell if the hi limit thermostat in my maytag wall oven is bad

test with a multi meter on each end of the wire prong connector, place each end of ur meter prong on both 1 and 2 of the connectors, and test for continuity ohms or a close circuit. have ur meter on a low ohms setting as the level of ohms is low. if it shows an open circuit or no continuity, its defective. Infinity is the meter not showing anything like a number 1 and not moving?

Temperature control with gas ovens is not an exact science. However the control should be better than you say.

Have you tried reducing the set temperature to compensate for the 'overshoot'. It may be worth a try.

I have the same problem, however I found that if I just hold the Bake, Broil.ect button in until you hear the relay click then the oven functions normally.

The Taylor oven thermometer you bought is decent at best. It is most likely the sensor inside the oven. Has your clock displayed any fault codes? F, followed by a number? Changing the sensor will probably correct the problem.

TOP BURNERS WORK BUT OVEN DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.

Sounds like a heating element. Same thing happend to my oven. You can find them around 50-60 dollars. Veryy easy to install, just remove a couple of screws and remove old element and put in new one. Make sure you shut off power to oven firstg of course.

There is a transformer located on the oven that generates voltage to the ignititors. You have a bad transformer or a bad connection.
