Remove the rim piece at vacuum inlet and press the roller back into its end slots. Should straighten it out. Good luck

Have you solved your problem? The rollers have different protrusion levels . they are designated by numbers or notches on the ends of the roller brush. Make sure the settings are the same when reinserting the roller brush.

Up right kenmore sweeper works for awhile then shuts off for a short period and then you have to turn it back on

Sears has a fantastic policy on products that they sell. Also have you checked to see it there is "stuff" caught on and in the beater bar? This can cause problems that overwork the sweeper and might cause it to shut off rather than burn out the motor.

Beaters bar will not turn

Hi Earl! It can't be easy to pick up debris when the brushes don't turn. If you've owned the sweeper for some time, it may be necessary to replace the brushes.
Here's a quick link to ordering from our website: http://www.bissell.com/search.aspx?g=1&s=2600&cid=ccsocial

Brush bar won't work

The belt is usually attached to its own motor. Have you checked that the electrical plug for the motor to the electronic board is not loose? If that is okay, does the brush spin on its own when the belt is detached? If not there may be hair or fiber preventing the brush from spinning correctly. If the motor encounters too much resistance, it may have shut off because of overheating.

Vacuum won't pick up any dirt - there's no roller marks when vacuuming carpet. Roller does turn and filters are clean.

Hi,

When you turn the roller, you should feel some resistance from the belt. Remove the base blate that surrounds the beater bar. Check the belt. Take care in removing the beater bar, so you can get it back in the same way it comes out. Clean the beater bar while you have the bottom open. If you remove the beater bar to replace the belt, take the time to inspect the cavity behind the beater bar where the vacuum picks up. That is where vacuums usually stop up. Reassemble the vacuum. If necessary, slip the belt over the motor shaft and then slide the roller undre the belt. Install the beater bar back in the sockets and replace the base plate.
Best regards,

No suction at sweeper on dyson dc14

It may be something else. I have just had the same problem and I turned my Dyson over and removed the head bar by turning the 3 plastic screws. I found that a small plastic pipe, on the left handside, that attaches the head to the main machine had come off. I eased this back into its housing and problem is now fixed. Not bad for a total technophobe!

Kirby generation3 instructions,

Hi there!

If you are talking about the main sweeper attatchment, Lift the light at the front of the upright machine, Make sure the belt inside the sweeper it is over the hook when you turn the handle on the front anti-clockwise to "belt off". Turning handle raises belt.
The hooks at the bottom of sweeper go over the bar at the base of the body. It helps to lift the wheels slightly.
When hooked on, rotate handle clockwise to "belt on" and close the light cover.

Is this solves the problem , please take a moment to rate as Fixya! If you need more help, just ask again on this question.
Thank you.

Agitator stops when sweeper is pulled backward

If you have made no changes to the vacuum's setup and are using it on same carpet you have previously used it on with no problem, then the most likely cause is the agitator/beater bar's drive belt is worn or on some models may have a tension adjustment which is set too loosely. This can also be caused by having the vacuums height adjustment set to low for the carpet or flooring you are using it on, causing to much drag when the vacuum is pulled backwards for the agitator to overcome.

The vast majority of agitators turn in a forward direction, as if it would pull the vacuum forward, when you pull the vacuum backwards the drag is increased.

So...First check height adjustment (a no cost fix), then check out the tension adjustment (if present on you model, some engage when top of vacuum is tilted back after stepping on the release pedal) Lastly, consider changing belt especially if you have had the vacuum awhile or if it gets a fair amount of use or it you seem to need to use it on a low height setting all the time to vacuum up debris.

Hope this helps!
