Question about Cell Phones

I dropped my k850i in water. It started gradually working properly after a few days but it wont charge. Everything else works fine. It just doesn't recognise the charger which I know is working fine.

Hi, I have an ericsson k850i which I managed to drop in water accidently. After a couple of days, it started working gradually but the only problem is it wont charge or even recognise the charger. It's not the charger at fault because it charges other handsets, just the phone. Everything else working fine though.

Hi have you tried putting it in a bag of rice? If you haven't please try. Oh don't forget to wipe the battery and battery terminals with a clean dry cloth before putting in rice bag.

The phone really does need to be taken apart and cleaned properly using PCB cleaner and any IC's which are damaged need to be replaced, the more you put power into it before the damage is cleaned/repaired the more you are risking further damage...

If you havent done phone repairs before, try a decent local phone shop see if they can take a look at it for you.

If you want to try yourself let me know and I can try and find a guide for dissassembly for you, however I have to warn you a lot of the repairs we get everyday where people have done more damage to their phone by trying to repair it themselves, they are usually unrepairable or cost a lot more as more ends up being damaged than the original fault

Can you help me fix my Dell Studio 1558 laptop? It doesn't boot?

Dropping a laptop is never good news. Have you tried to Cold-Start the laptop, unplug. remove battery, leave battery out for now, plug in try to start normally. If that fails, Did you remove the HDD and reseat? The damage from the drops may have jarred something loose. Do you get activity, light blinking, from the HDD? The DVD/CD?

The battery doesn't work fine

If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

My SSH25KFRFWW doesn't dispense ice or water when you press the lever.

Sounds like you soft reset the pcb when you switched it off. Probably just a glitch. Keep an eye on it for a few days, and check everything for the baby is kept properly cool etc. Good luck!

Drove my '99 Stratus through high water & wont start 2 weeks later

If water went over the hood and into your air cleaner there's probably water in your engine. change your oil. Pull your spark plugs, leave them out for a few days to let any water in there dry out. pull your air cleaner, if it's wet, throw it away and get another one. After a few days pour some Marvel Mystery Oil into your spark plug tubes or spray PB Blaster (encase your pistons are rusted to the block)

This may not get it working, if there was water in the engine when your were trying to start it you may have bent the valves, water doesn't compress.

However I would do these things before condemning your engine.

Hi, I own a Kenmore side-by-side fridge model #363-58572892. A few weeks ago, we returned from vacation and I turned our water back on (well) and expected to start getting ice in 6 hors but didn't. ...

Right...

Hello Richard Lawlor,

Still YESTERDAY here (California: 20 March @ 10pm)...

two BIG possibilities...

1). Ice-maker fill duration ... too long:
Overfills

Solution: reduce cube size (water fill time
(reference : owner's manual)

2). Water valve "calcified: failure to close...
Solution: replace valve (see "Sears" link below)
for WATER VALVE...
EASY Alternative... clean the valve with
coffee pot "descaler"
or white vinegar
(
rinse bountifully with water unless your taste croaked).

(not sure about the six hours... unless you had the ENTIRE refrigerator turned off... It can take a working FRIG up to 72 hours to reach operating STABILITY.

Also possible...

Okay (I lied)...
3). Serious air INTRUSION... will allow MASSIVE frost build-up
and allow the defrost pan (evaporative) to be OVERWHELMED.
(floods).
Solution... Find pizza box, or other reason the doors are not sealing... Plum, level & square EVERYTHING according to your ORIGINAL set-up instructions

But for the water on the floor...

You can use clean ... new typing / printer paper to find where the water is accumulating...

Hope this helps...

I come here about DAILY... Love refrigerators: Please feel free to comment me back for better ideas.

Video guides are available on
sites below (and usually better prices for the same spares).

Black screen Sony Ericsson K850i

Hi,

I just had the same problem. I tried everything including resetting the whole phone upgrading the software etc etc.

I was convinced it was a softare problem, but my screen only went black when i press the buttons on one side of the keywpad so i started thinking it may simply be hardware related.

I tried taking off the case but didnt have the screw drivers to do this.

Eventually in a fit of rage I threw my phone on the floor (Carpetted floor) and too my surprise the problem got better! I basically gave my phone a few more whacks and it started to work fine again.

I am not suggsting you start whacking your phone, but i imagine if you took off the case and re-fitted it this would work.

Good luck.
