I have an old Richo 35mm SLR purchased in 1968. When you advance the film and release the winding lever it fires the shutter. Can i do a DIY repair.

Doubtful. The inside workings of older film SLRs are like watches, lots of gears and such. If something has broken, which this sounds like, then you'll need replacement parts and a source for them. You might try checking this website for more info:

Why cv axle is twisting

Are you trying to tell us that when you put it in gear.. the axel spins and moves up and down because of a broken CV JOINT? In this case the axels are sold rebuilt for really low price. Rockauto.com. They are not real easy to change.. look under the car while someone puts it in gear.. WITH THE E BRAKE ON AND WHEELS BLOCKED.. AND SEE WHAT THE AXE; IS DOING. Then you can make an assessment of what to replace.

Hook Drive Gear, Riccar #53741 how to take part off of sewing machine

Hi there,

Today I got such a machine (Riccar) for free from a lady I know. the only problem was that the needle walked against the bobbin (timing problem).

I screwed the sewingmachine open and after some screwing I saw that the part, Hook Drive Gear, Riccar #53741, was broken. Wat I did is I enscrewed two screws wich hold the part on the axe and with a bigger flat screwdriver I could just push the part from the axe, from the other gear. It looks more difficault then it is.

Now I have to get a new part, put it back and time the the machine so that the needle will go normal, at the right time, in the bobbin. Does anybody know the trick to do that?

regards,
Daan

I've just had this same problem with my Sephy 740. Nothing helped until I disassembled the printer and realizing the small gear wheel (not visualized) at position in the red circle had loosened. Remounting the gear wheel on the shaft with a tiny drop of Blue Loctite and letting dry three hours, reassembling the printer and turning it on fixed the problem.

These scanners will collect alot of paper dust. You need to remove the ADF cover and using compress air and or a vaccum blow out the jam/original photosensor's, I believe there are 4 sensors. Power OFF then ON and try it..
