Re: shift keys Are being cApitAl a and tab
Try to use virtual keyboard in start/allprograms/accessories/accessibility/onscreen keyboard. If your virtual keyboard is showing the different layout than your keyboard, check your input language setting and fix it. If your virtual keyboard is OK, then your real keyboard is the problem. Try to unplug and plug again.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

To type capital letters, press the shift key which is the up arrow in the bottom left corner of the screen, and then press the key for your desired letter. If you would like caps lock, double-tap the shift key. Note that the caps lock will be deactivated if you change to the number keyboard or symbol keyboard.

Let me know if this helped
It has a qwerty keyboard/keypad so the "Caps Lock" key just below the "Tab" key on the left side of the phones keyboard/keypad and pressing it once should turn Caps Lock off. And BTW the "Shift" key should only Capitalize the next letter keyed.
Hi Grumpy Gran
Great name by the way. Are they listed top to bottom ` a two headed arrow, caps lock, an up arrow and ctrl?
These are not particular active keys. If you have used a typewriter the two headed arrow is the tab key, use it to jump a given number of spaces to the right.
The caps lock will set your keyboard in capitals mode. The uparrow is the shift key which temporarily puts it into capitals or vice-versa. The ctrl key is a special key which is not used in normal typing. You may not need it in normal use.
Good luck with your surfing.
ps its not a good idea to unplug your keyboard whilst the computer is still on. You should connect it when the computer is off so that it is detected when the computer starts.
