Question about De Dietrich UMP404 Powerclean Stainless Steel Electric Single Oven

Element stopped working

The element in the lower oven of our fx4942u1/1 has stopped working. House mains tripped off as the oven was heating up for dinner, reset mains, element not working any more (rest of oven function seems fine). Is this a straight element change? Thanks

Smeg oven stopped working

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  2. If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

When using the oven the electicity tripped; after resetting the breaker the oven does not appear to get hot; however the grill works, the light works and the fan works what could be the problem?

Sounds like the oven element has gone. When these elements go they often short against the outside casing of the element which is earthed (or should be). This trips the main trip switch in the house. Having tripped and cooled down, the element is now broken inside & won't heat up. Usually 2 screws to remove, either inside oven or outside at back. Element usually taken out thro oven. Take it & cooker info to your dealer & ask for replacement. Shouldn't cost much.

I have a hotpoint ew91 oven that stopped working after tripping house fuse. after resetting fuse fan works but no heat.

It is most likely that the oven heating element has failed which caused the house fuse to trip.

The replace the heating element will mean taking the back off the oven and removing the old heat element by undoing the fixing screws and the electrical connectors( normally this surrounds the fan assembly).

Fitting the new heat element should then be straight forward.

Remember to disconnect the power to the oven before removing the back.

Main oven will not heat up

Check the lower heating element, you should test the element for continuity, and inspect element wirings for a short.
If it is only the lower part that is not heating, and the circuit breaker tripped off, then it is usually a faulty element.

You can get parts from the following internetional part sellers:

Repairclinic

PArtselect.

Contact them if the part or the model is not in list.

Main oven problem

I suspect not the oven element at fault. you only way forward is to actually test the resistance of the element to earth with a megga if you can beg the use of one. be cautious about the result as on occasion, elements are only faulty to earth when hot. another way to test if you are cdarefull, is to connect the element to mains independently of the oven and see if the rcd trips

Electrolux oven wont heat up after power cut

hiya
sounds like the fan element could have blown, causing the electrics to trip out. best thing to do is remove all the racking
and then the rear panel that covers the fan and element. if he element has blown most of the time it will be visible.

hope this helps

please dont forget to rate the helpfulness of this reply thanks kj
